Doctor Osprey’s Clinic is Open
All the hurricanes that came our way over the last few years beat up my big mango tree in the front yard but it is bloody but unbowed. This year the
terrible north winds have ripped off the old leaves and new blossoms and dropped them in my fountain. The tannin fouls the fountain terribly so I have
been forced to put a lot more bleach in the water to clean and clear the water.
While this larger dosage keeps the fountain looking fresh, the bleach is having an effect on the animals. My two dogs have begun to shed (driving the
cleaning lady nuts) and all the birds that come to my nearby feeder are molting like crazy. Maybe, like the trees, they are just going through their
normal molt but I think, with the dogs, I can safely say it is a forced molt.
When the animals all look shiny and healthier than before, when their new and improved coverings are in full bloom I think I can take some pride in
this happy accident of nature. I’m also thinking they probably have a lot less intestinal parasites now. Right now the dogs look pretty scruffy while
the birds must be afraid to show their transformation and are staying away – haven’t had to fill up the feeder for days.

Just don't start adding the fountain water to your scotch, Lynda may think you look funny with no hair at all.
