no idea re any special activities, haven't been any to my knowledge for the years I've been there but then I avoid the town/highway during Loreto Fest
for obvious reasons. special church services of course. tons of people at the beaches.

the main square is torn up for remodeling, has been for several months, who knows when that project will be finished.
