I would appreciate it if someone could give me detailed, up-to-date directions on how to get on the toll road to Ensenada after crossing the border at
TJ.
Thanksnoproblemo2 - 5-1-2010 at 09:41 AM
Stay to your right, follow the Cuota signs, very easy....Mulegena - 5-1-2010 at 09:53 AM

You'll pass that first right-turn, the highway goes up and curves right and follows the border fence west. The highway then drops down and curves
left/south where you'll soon come to your first tollbooth which will take either pesos or dollars.Bob and Susan - 5-1-2010 at 12:03 PM
first...stay in the middle lane
that lane becomesthe slow lane
then move over carefully to the turn off lane
watch out for on-comming traffic
then get into the slow lane when you're on the border road

then...
in a couple of miles in the slow lane
and just after the BIG smelly grade
you get to a turn off
go right
then get into the fast lane asap
this lane takes you to the toll road
then one road down to ensenada

Is the speed limit along the fence still 25kmph? Used to be a speed trapBajahowodd - 5-1-2010 at 01:50 PM
With all the potholes along that section, a given how fairly short it is, why would anyone try and speed there, anyway? for me, the biggest challenge
was the extremely slow traffic headed up the hill, combined with the sudden pullout of cars trying to pass.k-rico - 5-1-2010 at 02:05 PM
Just drove the border highway westbound from the SY crossing today. No major potholes in the slow lane which I always use except to pass. I drive it
weekly if not more.
Avoid afternoon rush hour if you can. It gets packed.
Also drove to TJ from Ensenada yesterday on the toll road. There are some MAJOR potholes south of La Mision on the northbound side of the toll road.
Careful.David K - 5-1-2010 at 03:34 PM
