I realize this may be a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a hotel in Ensenada that includes meals and drinks that are common in Mexico
and Central America. I know most of you will tell me to go farther south, but we will only have time for a weekend getaway and Ensenada is much
closer. If anyone knows about an all inclusive resort that's not outrageously priced, please let me know. Also if there are small towns in the

What may come closest is Estero Beach. Although not "all inclusvie" by design, you can get a room, have all meals and drinks at the restaurant there
put on your tab. Has ocean front, close to town for shopping, inside/outside dining. Being off season, and tourism down generally, you may be able to
swing a deal on your terms. Otherwise, I believe that one of the windery hotels off Mex. 3 has room/restaurant/pool/spa facilities as well where you

Never understood the allure of the all-inclusive resort. The only valid reasons I've gotten from friends is that they can drink as much as they want.
All-inclusives were first started by Club Med, who had the market cornered for many years. It really started to develop in Jamaica, where political
unrest and crime against tourists was affecting their tourist receipts. So, up popped placed like Sandals, all-inclusive, with a fence all around it.
When I travel, especially to foreign countries, I like to get a flavor for the local culture and cuisine. If one spends their entire time on the same
property, especially when it comes to food, you're only getting one kitchen's interpretation.
That said, while I am a fan of Estero Beach, if you only have a weekend, why not look into some of the nice hotels in the downtown area that are
within walking distance to any number of nice restaurants, be they Mexican, French, South American, Etc.? I'm referring to places such as El Rey Sol,
Villa Fontaine, Best Western, San Nicolas...just to mention a few.
