ATT is the ONLY one that works in mulege.
i mean for a USA carrier.
it works great for $5.99 a month plus .99 a min.
i use it every time i am there.
VERIZON will not work in mulege and they will LIE about it!!
so the ATT thing has been around every since Mulege got the tower up - this is old news - ATT has had int'l roaming for years.Howard - 5-22-2010 at 08:34 AM
With my AT &T I great great service in and around Loreto.Mexicorn - 5-22-2010 at 08:46 AM
They did this a few years back they had a 450 minute plan and 850 minute plan etc. I got rid of it recently since I was tired of paying the $100.00 a
month. Att did away with the plan only a few short months after they announced it back in 2002. They said they had too much problems from Telcel
they're partners and too much ripping off. I still dont understand it but I could'nt afford the $100.00 phone bills anymore. No I've got Skype and I
can use it anywhere there is wifi.capt. mike - 5-22-2010 at 11:12 AM

why pay the $5.99? i just dial while in baja and it costs me less than $1/minute while on the telcel network with my att phone.Hook - 5-22-2010 at 04:17 PM
Yeah, we have an ATT Go Phone that we charge on line. It is a US number.
About 4-6 months ago, the rate dropped for calls within the US or Mexico in either direction to about .25 cents/minute. Previously, it had been
.99/min. We signed up for nothing to get this reduction; it was unilaterally implemented.
So, we have taken to using this as a second "Mexican cell" as our Mexican "Go Phone" runs about .22/min when we buy 500 pesos worth at a time.
Go Phones work great for us. No monthly fee and the minute charge is fine as we have never been phone yakers.
For the long distance stuff to the states, we use skype or more often Live Messenger, mostly computer to computer.BajaWarrior - 5-22-2010 at 05:08 PM
Going on 6 years with my North America Plan through Cingular (now AT&T). Monthly it's about $65 with rollover. Works anywhere in Baja that has a
tower. Never a problem with service and works most of the way from Mexicali to San Felipe.

That North American Plan is not available. I tried to get that they said NOPE
I pay the 5.99 plus .59 a minute.
I think Hook told me about the .25 but have not been up to the States to change it. But i will be going with the roll over. I have that now. this new
think is better.
We have both our Baja land lines with Koala calling have had that for about 8 or 9 years. anywhere in the US or Canada .22 a minute. Had skype and
magic jack. like the Koala better.
Oh Woody
now you can call us on ATT at no cost to you for reservation. Soon as i sign up.

i'll try that over memorial weekend. from mulege or pac side...Howard - 5-22-2010 at 06:09 PM
OK, here is first hand information.
For years and years I hade a program with Cingular (now AT&T) that was 1000 minutes with rollover in the USA for $39.95 a month. I never wanted
to give up that plan as I was grand fathered in and a newbie could not get that plan.
Now that I am spending more time in Baja and still must be umbilically connected (thanks Jimmy Buffett!) to my office, I changed plans a few weeks
ago. Here is what I got.
It’s the North America Plan
450 minutes anywhere Canada, Mexico or the USA, in coming or outgoing for $54.95 a month. Maybe it was $54.99 a month.
1,000 weekend minutes free.
I have over 2,000 rollover minutes from my original plan. They originally wanted to roll over only 450 minutes to the new plan. I spoke with a
supervisor and they rolled over all my minutes to the new plan.
I think that I have free calls to and from any other AT&T phone
I think that I have one number I can call that does not count against my minutes.irenemm - 5-22-2010 at 06:28 PM
good to know. I would not ever think of taking my rollover minutes. I will remember that. I have never used even 20 minutes in a month. Had this for
almost 5 years.
Will be changing this soon.
thanks everyone
Irene
