we just returned from our first trip to bahia. 4 days on the bay were enough to know we were early for the big fish so we filled up on cabrilla,
blanco and aguado. fished with El Payaso in campo amigos.
the winds were not bad. air/water temps were about 85/64 with the water being chilly on first toe in. swam with a fin back whale (actually, i just
dove in to cool off during the mid day fish trip).
i could live here

what do you do when the Pacific calls
woody with a view - 5-22-2010 at 02:49 PM
head west, of course. hoping to score some rumored swell we headed down the bumpy trails.... HUGE Cardon. anyone wanna guess how old?
hours later we hit the beach

no surf to speak of, but with no other humans present what else do you do after hours of driving, a couple ballenas and exploring the tide pools and
the Osprey offspring along the cliffs?

shari - 5-22-2010 at 03:38 PM
we're thinking tuna season might be early this summer...cause right now there are more and more schools of yellowtail every day just a few miles
out...usually you cant get a YT till mid august...weird...halibut are movin in to the beach in front of campo sirena now.

Looks like you had a good time at both Bay of Los Angeles, and at that other location.
Nice pix.

Woody, what about Gonzaga...? No time for both? It is totally different than L.A. Bay (at least so far, but pavement is coming)...
woody with a view - 5-22-2010 at 07:01 PM
we wanted fish. all i've gathered = fish come to LA Bay before Gonzaga so we went there after our friends backed out.
David K - 5-22-2010 at 07:05 PM
10-4, L.A. Bay has cooler and deeper water... richer variety of fish. The place is dynomite for yellowtail in the summer!
