WHERE CAN I GET A NOMAD T-SHIRT

KASHEYDOG - 5-28-2010 at 11:52 AM

WHERE CAN I GET A BAJA NOMAD T-SHIRT. I TRIED ON LINE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND IT DIDN'T WORK. I LIVE IN OCEAN BEACH / SAN DIEGO, IS THERE SOMEWHERE IN SAN DIEGO I CAN PICK ONE UP?

Just like my 'got baja?' hats and stickers, these things are available for a limited time, while supplies last... I do think Doug could sell more, but he needs more motivation than I can provide.

I suggest anyone wanting shirts or hats send Doug (BajaNomad) a u2u or email... Maybe the pressure will be too much for him?:light:

BajaSerg - 6-5-2010 at 07:05 PM

Is there a paten on the t-shirts or can anyone make their own? Just woundering?

wilderone - 6-5-2010 at 11:22 PM

Not patented - it's a trademark violation to use "Baja Nomad" without permission. Or if you use the www.bajanomad website it could be a trademark violation if your use of it causes confusion or you derive personal gain WITHOUT PERMISSION. If you got permission to use the words "Baja Nomad" or "www.bajanomad.com" then no problemo.

willyAirstream - 6-6-2010 at 08:11 AM

Who's the head huncho to seek permission ? :)

Bajajorge - 6-6-2010 at 08:59 AM

Sounds to me like some enterprising dude is getting ready to make TShirts. Maybe? Could be?

willyAirstream - 6-6-2010 at 09:08 AM

You're right! I have an online store and will have some Baja designs up in a few days ( and Baja Nomads maybe?)

Could be. Until recently, BajaSerg had an avatar showing an illustrator doing a portrait with an air brush. This could be interesting.
It might be nice to run any creative ideas by Doug. It might just develop into something for everybody.

desertcpl - 6-6-2010 at 09:23 AM

me and the wife will buy a T shirt,, and a sticker,, and lets get some hats

2 large t shirts
2 hats
1 sticker

[Edited on 6-8-2010 by desertcpl]

bajaguy - 6-6-2010 at 09:38 AM

Hats, shirts, stickers........let's go!!!!!!

willyAirstream - 6-6-2010 at 09:46 AM

These are print on demand with customizable text and images. Nice soft printing inks with great colors and tons of t shirt styles and stickers, hats, mugs, etc. So far, I have 12 designs, and you could add your Baja user name etc. I'd like to add some Baja Nomad designs.

What is Doug's user name? ( sorry, somewhat new here) or his email?

I've been monitoring the thread throughout.

bigjohn - 6-6-2010 at 12:57 PM

I would be good for 2 XXL shirts.

desertcpl - 6-6-2010 at 06:31 PM

2 large here,, and 2 hats ,, and one sticker

yes i forgot also shirts with pockets

[Edited on 6-7-2010 by desertcpl]

Jaybo - 6-6-2010 at 09:07 PM

I'd be in for some shirts as well, prefer pocket T's with a small design on the pocket and a larger baja nomad on the back? XXL if they run in Americanized sizes 3X if they run small :) :)

edit: and stickers too!

[Edited on 6-7-2010 by Jaybo]

Yeah...that sounds high. I internet shop a lot for most everything except frozen food. I'm working on that.
Anyway, I've noticed the price of shipping going up on everything. In most cases, the parcel won't have the price as they used to so it's hard to tell if they're making profit on the shipping charge.

Yeah...that sounds high.
Keep in mind that's a flat-rate, no matter how many items are ordered.

Baja Bernie - 6-7-2010 at 04:54 PM

As you know I still wear my "Nomad" shirt proudly...I bet no one else has a signed copy of Sticker #1...I keep it right here on my desk.

Pretty cool!

Hi Mister Dennis...having been gone myself I didn't realize that you were gone also. Ha!

Now where is OSO?

Just had a friend send me this saying and believe that most Nomads already believe in it...

"Life is a gift...Unwrap it!"

Good to see you.

KASHEYDOG - 6-10-2010 at 02:18 PM

Hey Doug !!!
Looks like I got something going for you here. Hope you can fill all these orders and satisfy some pent up demand. Do mine first : )

[Edited on 6-11-2010 by KASHEYDOG]

dtbushpilot - 6-10-2010 at 02:26 PM

Ok, so are orders being taken for shirts or are we just wishing? Doug?

David K - 6-10-2010 at 06:04 PM

It is hard for me not to say anything... I have discussed this with Doug before...

Doug knows how much I have told him to create promo products for Nomad, that he could sell them. Heck, put 'Baja' on anything and folks like us will buy it.

I see no problem with an honest man (like Doug) accepting payment/orders in advance so he has funds to make the shirts/ hats/ whatever it is we want... Give him a reasonable time period to collect orders, have the product made, and ship out... Maybe say 4-6 weeks (like all those products sold on late night TV).

Doug... "your people" want these things.:cool:;)

Jaybo - 6-10-2010 at 06:39 PM

Yes we want baja nomad swag!

BajaNuts - 6-10-2010 at 08:00 PM

I know I've been out of the "t-shirt" production line for a while, but if I remember correctly...

there are silk screened prints and iron-transfer shirts.

Obviously, the silk screened shirts are better but they also require a significant set up charge and a minimum run. I've had my graphics people send us a few iron-on transfers, and we also ordered a SMALL run of shirts (maybe 10???) many moons ago using the iron on transfers and a local t-shirt print shop that had the high-heat t-shirt iron.

Just throwing this out to Senor BajaNomad,....... perhaps one of the BN members would be willing to coordinate the ordering and shipping of a limited run of shirts using the iron transfers...... Or, if there is enough interest, using the same coordinated effort, a limited run of silk-screened shirts (which are more expensive).

The beauty of the iron on transfers is that they can be done to almost exactly the number of orders that there are. The down-side is, they are not as durable through wear and wash as the silk screens.

JMHO~ what's the feelings from the boss and others?

willyAirstream - 6-11-2010 at 06:13 AM

I have an online store selling custom items of my designs ranging from poker to vintage RV stuff. I will be adding Baja swag shortly. The latest technology is a print on demand process using inks in lieu of silk screening paints. This is a digitized process with out any set up time or costs, there by making printing a single item cost effective, as well as allowing customization of individual printing ( ie: adding a name ) The process creates vivid colors and doesn't "feel" like a piece of plastic on your chest. This process, unlike iron transfers, is extremely durable and long lasting. Unlike a screen process which uses only 1-6 colors, the on demand process can use millions of colors, so printing a simple design up to a full color photograph is possible. The inked area feels the same as the rest of the shirt. This doesn't work on dark shirts, where a white transfer must be applied, then printed. It is ideally suited for light colors and white.

I was hoping to hear from Doug before adding the Baja items.
I've asked Doug for permission to use " Baja Nomad" and his trademarked "peace, love and fish tacos", but he has not replied with an answer. I could split the profit from his items, to help support the site hosting costs.

I'll take custom requests now. For example - If you would like an item with a design based on Coyote Bay, I'll add it with out any obligation from you. Or a design using your BN avatar and user name, just ask, again, no obligation.
All ideas welcome.

BajaNuts - 6-11-2010 at 07:49 AM

Let's see if you can work something out with Doug, it would be cool to have the BN logo and user name available.

DENNIS - 6-11-2010 at 07:52 AM

Hey Willy...Is your avatar some of your artwork?? It's good.

willyAirstream - 6-11-2010 at 08:04 AM

Thanks Dennis. Yeap, that is my artwork:)

Jaybo - 6-11-2010 at 09:35 AM

The thing I hate about light colored shirts is they get stained way too easily so the graphic may look good but the salso stain means it gets relagated to painting or rag duty.. :) Darker shirts it's not so noticible..

willyAirstream - 6-11-2010 at 11:22 AM

I have shirts in salsa color too ;)

Jaybo - 6-16-2010 at 08:59 AM

its been 5 days since the last reply .... where are we on this? Doug?

Hey Doug !!! Are you going to be able to get some inventory to fill these orders??? It's been 2 weeks since I ordered and I haven't received anything yet. Is it still coming??? I would like a visor too, if you have any. Let me know what and when you have any. How about an update on my order from June 7th. : )

willyAirstream - 6-20-2010 at 04:44 PM

Hmmmm David K?

David K - 6-20-2010 at 06:36 PM

What, what??? :?::tumble:

Folks, Doug is there... it may be just be enough that he keeps Nomad online for us to use and enjoy... If he doesn't want to make more stuff, then just make your own. If you are like me, you may want to support Doug financially by buying Nomad stuff.

DOUG, DOUG!
