fmt question

I'm sure the tourist visa questions have been covered to death, but I've a got a question that I couldn't quite get answered using the search. Even though this is over 20 bucks, I wondered if I was to get the free 7 day visa and get cross at GN on the way down south, would that be the only place I would have to be concerned with having it? I guess I'm trying to see if I could weasel without buying the thing. :)

don't buy it. if you get into an accident what do you think the first question the insurance adjuster or the local cops MIGHT ask you?

do you feel lucky? spend the $. it's the cheapest peace of mind you can buy, unless you don't have insurance, then good luck!

not so much the law i guess, but paying fees and....taxes.

bajaguy - 6-9-2010 at 06:50 PM

It's the law, Jeremias. It's their country, and if you like the law or think it's stupid, you should comply with it. You are a visitor in their counrty.....set the example

jeremias - 6-9-2010 at 07:07 PM

I should take that back, I pay ALL my taxes and fees.....:saint:

and I don't think it's stupid at all, I was just trying to see the logic in the one I would pay for vs. the free 7 day one, if I was only to show it on day one going down....thats all!.......:)

Okey dokey.............go have fun!!!!!

A peso saved is twenty five pesos spent. One of the primary rules of living and traveling in Baja. It is easier on the wallet and the mind to spend what is needed and not try to cut a corner.

As posted, as may1 it it labeled an fmm,
with possible different Regs and limitations.
I stopped at Mex icalli Immigration 3 weeks
back, they CLAIMED the free 7 day tourist
card was still being issued, though I'm
not positive the IMM Officer understood
my question. Spend the $22, if questioned
by, among others, Insurance Adjuster, Cop,
Military checkpoint, Mex IMM you will
consider that $22 well spent. As posted, it is
also Mex Law. I know what you mean though,
it's almost 2 cases of Pacifico
although I'm sure I'm not the only one
here that has fished without a Mex License, etc.

I will definitely be buying it...:) I've the insurance, so no point in risking that. I didn't even think about that possibility. I had fished on a friends boat for years without a license. Ouch, i think i had assumed it was already handled.
