Hello,
A couple of questions. Does anyone know if there is internet service available? We're trying to decide whether to bring a computer, Also do the
telcel phones work there?
Also, is there a good anchorage near the town so we can come ashore and get provisions? I've seen on their forum that there are several stores and
resturants.
Thanks for any help.

Yes there is internet service there, I haven't been there in a year or 2 but the beach in front of town is a good anchorage. Not sure about cell
service but should be hooked up now. The last time I was there there was no banks or ATMs so take plenty of cash. A fun town and the islands around
there are some of the best anchorages in the Baja.

Great places along the way as well, our boat was down here for 8 years and was to be our retirement plan til health problems changed all that, now
we're doing the next best living in Baja in a casa.... Life changes dreams don't.....

You'll definitely want internet. You'll be moving into the heart of hurricane season. Also an SSB radio and get the freqs for the nets too.

Tidal range can be about 12 feet so take that into consideration. I think the best anchorage OFF TOWN is in front of Guillermo's. It seems a little
more rocky over by the Villa Vita and less protected. My boat has ridden out the notorious elefante (WEST) winds at Guillermos that had to be 40-50
knots. With the sand bottom and the mildly steep dropoff, you can anchor close enough to shore that the wind doesnt have the distance to create any
wind waves.
For southern winds, inside Puerto Don Juan is preferred.
It WILL be hot, amigo.
