While couple was shopping in Walmart, thieves slit their tire on their travel trailer. When they returned, one of the thieves pointed out the flat
tire calling the driver out of the cab to the rear of the rig. Another thief then coaxed his wife out of the cab to the rear of the rig while another
thief took their possessions out of the cab including their passport, money, camera, etc.
Use caution when shopping at Walmart.
Does anyone know if they have security in the parking lot?

Interesting........Maybe that is why I saw at least 2 dozen (not kidding!) guards at the Costco yesterday.Roland - 6-19-2010 at 06:40 PM
Yes, I know that Costco always has security in the parking lot, but don't know about Walmart. We need to complain to Walmart management to fix this.DENNIS - 6-19-2010 at 07:49 PM

They have a bunch of old men who are supposed to watch things, but I don't know how extensive their responsibilities are.
This same thing happened to a local lady up the road at Waldo Mart.
When I'm in WalMart, I pay one of the geezers to stand by my car, but trucks with trailers park on the far side of the lot and are vulnerable.
Somebody should stay with the vehicle....like maybe the mother in law. tjBill - 6-19-2010 at 10:10 PM
A 25 cent tip is usually sufficient for the security guards.irenemm - 6-20-2010 at 12:27 AM
We always have our truck full when we stop at both Walmart and Costco.
We have someone always stay with the truck and give them 20.00 pesos. I have never had anything taken.
I hope they gave a good description to the cops.

COSTCO, Lancaster California summer 1994.
Window broken, door jimmied, 3/8ths inch diameter steel chain cut. 14 automotive batteries stolen out of a totally enclosed van.
Welcome to the club.Bajahowodd - 6-20-2010 at 01:03 PM
Summer of '94? Geez. Maybe get over it.
That said, I can't even begin to count the number of times posters have related the fact that crime occurs everywhere. Inasmuch as this board is
dedicated to Baja, we focus on crime in Baja. Just like the states and elsewhere, some areas are safer than others, and personal conduct affects one's
safety as well. Walmart in Ensenada would seem to be a fairly safe bet. Open visibility. Well lit at night. Lot's of foot traffic. Imagine that as
Dennis noted, it's probably less than ideal to park on the far side of the lot, unless, due to the size of the vehicle, you must.
