Just curious what class line everyone runs while fishing in their tinboats. I am interested in both inshore and offshore.
Are you running braid? Mono? Copolymer...etc?
Are you running 17, 20, 30, 40, 50 or higher class lines?
I run P-line CXX 20# copolymer inshore and offshore,
and P-line CXX 40# copolymer offshore or in really rocky areas.
I also use Yo Zuri 50# and 100# flouro leaders.

I have a 14' Gregor on the East cape. If I'm trolling Rapalas or feathers targeting sierra, dorado, cabrilla or whatever I catch I use 20# mono with a
40-60# flouro leader about 6 or 8' long. If I'm specifically targeting sierra I will use a very light (20-25#) wire leader.
If I'm trolling bigger lures looking for (or expecting) big dorado, tuna or bill fish I will use a short rod with 50# mono and a 60-100# flouro (big
skirts, cedar plugs, big Rapalas, Mirrolures or live mackerel).
I've used so many different brands of mono that I'm not sure what I have on which outfit any more. You can't go wrong with P-line CXX.
On my casting rods that I use on the beach and for pitching lures from the boat I use 50# spectra braid with about 15'of 20# flouro top shot tied with
a single layer albright knot.
I don't have a bait tank on the boat because I've tried to keep it simple but I'm taking one down with me when I go back down. Live bait changes

Very similar to dt. For inshore I use 30# Power Pro braided line with a 6' to 8' 15# flouro top shot. But have been broken off a couple times so will
get a spool of 20 or 25# flouro next trip North. Offshore I'm using 20 to 30# mono & 80+ for the lure rigging. I'm too lazy and my eyes are too

Santiago, Penn10... a really old salmon reel I never tossed but now I'm hoping it will fit the bill for something level wind and a bit bigger than the
Curados. I have a Saltigo that would also work but not level wind. The longer Hopkins trolls really nice at the speed I like. Better than the Krocs.

You are going to love the duroboat. We have a 12 footer, and it handles sloppy seas much better than you would think.
I use 40# to 50# line on 4/o size reels mostly. We are either trolling, or fishing macs down near the bottom most of time.

My main rods for La Mision all run 20lb Ande clear. For calicos, sandbass, halibut, lings, ect. it is plenty strong. Abu Garcia 5500 and 6500 reels
rock. Anvil strong, easy to service. I think I have 10 of them. They have dorado, yellowtail, and white seabass over 20 lbs on their resume. My heavy
rigs all run 40lb Ande clear. Smimano TLD 15-30, and 20-40 star drags, and a sweet Avet MXL 2-speed w/Magic Cast. Oh, the Shimano Calcuta w/50lb braid
