DENNIS - 6-20-2010 at 06:13 AM

I just got this off of Maggies blog. Does anyone know anything about it???

"I heard ****** was arrested for illegally working in mexico and died when apprehended by authorities. I'm not sure, but I think this guys handle is "the gull" on bajanomad."

Probably just too much stress for the Gull...With all his relatives dying over in the gulf of Mexico.

I'd suggest a moment of silence...

DENNIS - 6-20-2010 at 07:35 AM

I hope he's enjoying a nice fathers day at the landfill.

Hey Gull....you had better check in before people start talking about you.

Mexicorn - 6-20-2010 at 09:52 AM

Sorry to hear it if it's true. I'll confirm the story next time I get to the Bar.
Happy Fathers day all!

Happy Fathers day all!

You gotta love it when we depend on a trip to the bar to hear the news. The police are on edge and not even the tourist police are smiling- so something is going on below the surface again, big time.

desertcpl - 6-20-2010 at 05:58 PM

not good

I did notice on Thurday the tourist police were riding around on their quads standing up as if looking for something.... Guess we'll know soon enough whatever it is this time....

woody with a view - 6-20-2010 at 06:55 PM

the vultures will tell.....

The right gull

Excuse me if this sounds insensitive but:

Don't all gulls pretty much look alike?

Perhaps to some..........

Gotta observation... why are west coast seagulls mute (except for "our" Gull)?. Seriously- on the east coast they squawk all the time- here they are dead silent... Maybe they're happy like the CA cows?

Ditto Mexicorn.......... that they do too....... but whoa when ya wake up!!!!!

Mexicorn - 6-22-2010 at 07:37 AM

Woke up at 4AM in night sweats with a splitting headache. This all for an attempt for looking out for ones fellow Nomads. PS Kids this is not for the light hearted tea tootling crowd.
Hey Dennis how are those bloody Mary's down at Sharkeys?
I'm not about to make this a Bender maybe one or two while I watch Wimbledom day two and North Korea loose to Durban at 11:00AM.

Coffee for now lots of coffee and a greassy breakfast to extend my life this AM!

oldlady - 6-22-2010 at 07:44 AM

The U2U to Gypsy notwithstanding, My guess is he could be on the Champs Elysees sipping Cristal, right about this time. The x-change rate is favorable. Sigh.

toneart - 6-22-2010 at 10:06 AM

Although he is, at times, abrasive and politically crude, I wish no harm to any fellow Nomad. I hope this turns out well for The Gull and that he resurfaces soon.

At the time of Dennis' post, I did a search and found no reference to article or blog post you mention.

Also, INM has no history of violence with expats, nor do they have a jail, they simply ask you to sit down in their office while they process the case and most often ask you to leave on your own.

Dennis can you reference the post or article which prompted your concern?

Gull probably cracked Denny's user log in and posted it himself just to stir the pot.

Here ya go. It's 5 or 6 posts from the top by Marco.

As to your comment about Immigration not having a jail, you're wrong. The new, as of again 5 or 6 years back, INM main office in Tijuana, outside of centro in a residential neighborhood, has a good size jail. I was in it along with three kids from Guatamala waiting for deportation. The place was so new, they went to McDonalds to feed us.
The facility isn't a satellite office. It's as number one for the region as it gets. The head of immigration for the entire district is officed there.

Dennis;
Maybe you've told it before...but I'd like to hear your immigration jail story

wessongroup - 6-24-2010 at 10:16 AM

oh, if you think you may be going in... old school.. wear double underwear and tee shirts so, when you are washing one pair you have another to wear while the others dry... :):)

DENNIS - 6-24-2010 at 02:47 PM

I guess Gull is still alive. He posted yesterday on another thread. I'll bet he really enjoyed all of this.

It's a long story, Marty. Delicate in some areas as well. It wouldn't be wise for me to lay it ALL out there and the short version would beg too many questions. I'd best not.
I didn't want to ignore you.

Martyman - 6-25-2010 at 09:50 AM

No biggee.
