How ?? Hot was it at your place today??

Russ - 6-22-2010 at 03:54 PM

Hot but a change in wind made it really dry and a lot less sweaty.
I'll drink to that!:light:

I figure it got up to around 80 mid day here today...perfect...now it cooled down with the west wind blowing around 18 knots.

tiotomasbcs - 6-22-2010 at 04:24 PM

Sat & Sunday the temp jumped up to low 90s but no breeze. Monday the westerly flow returned, Gracias a Dios! Nightime temps were around 70 but has dropped a little so we can all sleep. Get the A/C dusted off and tuned up! !00 degrees in La Paz.:O:O Don't know how they doit---hit The Mall??!

103.3 F but doesn't feel too hot because the humidity is only 15%.

High for the month so far is 108.3 F:

Hook - 6-22-2010 at 05:33 PM

I'm showing 103.5 right now. I'm about a mile from the water on the Sonoran coast.

At least it's a DRRRRRYYYYYYYYY heat, as they say in Phoenix.

Wind is ripping pretty good, though.

Bob and Susan - 6-22-2010 at 05:56 PM

100 right now

ac is on...7pm

Paula - 6-22-2010 at 05:57 PM

Our thermometer fell out of it's tree once, and now only speaks in round numbers. But today's 90 degrees was much hotter than yesterday's 90. WWWWWWAAAAAAYYYYYY too hot for hanging
two loads of laundry, washed late, but it sure dries fast!

My car thermo said 102 around noon.

We got up to 79 out here on the beach west of San Quintin. Right now it's 72 degrees and very comfortable...

Howard - 6-22-2010 at 08:29 PM

In my walk in freezer at work it was -5 degrees, does that count in this discussion?

Russ - 6-22-2010 at 08:34 PM

Absolutely ~~~ Work! Poor guy!

DavidE - 6-22-2010 at 08:37 PM

88, and 62% humidity at 3:00PM/. At 10:30PM mountain time, it's 82 with 74% humidity. A/C. is on and 83F inside (concrete retains heat) with 35% humidity.

Just got through cutting a bunch of purple finger bananas for tomorrow, a box of vine ripe haden mangos from my trees, and a sack of fresh limones from the trees. Along with the watermelon and cantaloupe I picked at sundown from my garden.

But yeah, it's hard to imagine why I don't live in San Diego. Tomorrow is coconut gathering day, and time to brew up a liter or two of aloe vera.

From the coast of Michoacan ---

Also there is a very large a formidable storm gathering quite far from Baja (right now it's at the border with Guatemala) but this looks like it -could- grow into something significant. I think the peninsula could use a frenching like we got a couple of days ago from the lat tropical storm --- between the hours of seven PM in the evening and eight the next morning, it filled an empty 5 gallon plastic pail to overflowing.

'frenching?"

DavidE - 6-22-2010 at 08:39 PM

Hold the thought! I could use a "frenching". The peninsula could use a drenching. Pardon my syntax.

Hook - 6-22-2010 at 08:53 PM

Frenching? In the context of the World Cup, I figured it was a synonym for an
A S S KICKING!!!!

Mexitron - 6-23-2010 at 05:26 AM

Been in the 90s since May 15th in Fort Worth, and humid...hard to do landscaping in this stuff...

Pescador - 6-23-2010 at 05:49 AM

Russ, you are killing me here man. I am in Colorado and it is 48 degrees here this morning and I wish I were back in Baja with the dry heat instead of freezing my behind off. I did not know how much fun it could be to get a house ready for sale, especially in this lousy weather. Maybe I can bottle a little of this up and slowly release it when I get back.

OK, OK.... I just am partial to having a cloud or something in the back ground.
But with this "perfect" weather I'll be waiting awhile. Gotta work in the boat trailer today or I'd be launching this morning in hopes of telling stories of some monster fish.:(

wessongroup - 6-23-2010 at 06:29 AM

Was starting to worry..... thanks for getting the camera out... been missing those with my morning coffee... who's the other guy in the picture?

Russ - 6-23-2010 at 06:33 AM

Mason, my chocolate lab. The well know food thief.

wessongroup - 6-23-2010 at 06:44 AM

thanks :lol and love to see folks dogs being loose too.. just getting to be themselves.. it really changes their personality being free to meet people and explore on their own.. really allows them to be themselves...

Mason, looks to be one happy camper to me.. just out checking things out with Dad in the morning ... a really great dog.. the Lab.. but, then I'm a softy for just about all of them..

Some days when I taking my walks.. not far and long.. I end up with around 7 dogs.. they all come out from their own places, and walk with me.. they are all good guys.. give them a "butt" scratch and we are friends for life..

Have all started coming back to the house.. as I will give them treats.. they all seem to go crazy over bacon flavored dog treats.. and it gives me a great deal of joy to be able to make a bunch of dogs that happy with just a couple of "treats" .... and of course the local dogs have found the big gringo suckers too.. they are the first to show up and have become the loyalist ... but, with good manners with my last dog "Bear".. they give him his space, as it is his house..

Good guys to have with you on a beach fishing... thanks again.. and does he go out with you in the boat?

Meany - 6-23-2010 at 07:02 AM

Weds. In Santa Paula. The June Gloom an 69 degrees. Go get those Big ones Russ.:P:P

Russ - 6-23-2010 at 07:06 AM

wessongroup, I get upset when people, well meaning, give Mason treats. Yes, he'll be their bud for life but a begging dog really disgust me. And Mason will do anything for a treat. Just ask the lady that made 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies and Mason went in her house and took them all! Now they have to close up there house, if they remember, when he's anywhere near. And that's true with a lot for neighbors. Feed him once and he'll make himself at home. Taking him fishing is a total disaster, duh, he's a water dog and has to swim right in front of me while I'm trying to fish. If I tell him NO he'll just stare at me and bark. Not the brightest cintavo! Yeah, me. The dogs much smarter.
Here he is hunting stingrays.

Well it was 54 near the beach here in San Francisco. Went for a run in the park with a long sleeve shirt on and nearly froze.:(

wessongroup - 6-23-2010 at 07:18 AM

Good shot, and when folks tell me they don't like their dogs given treats I stop.. and in most cases these poor fools have never had anything like that..

When I was having my car worked on there was a rottweller, these people were using for a guard dog I guess, but the poor guy was just looking terrible .. could see that he was one sad and lonely dog.. so I asked him if anyone ever talked to him? he came over to the steel bars of the cage and put his head down so I could scratch his head and give him a good rub plus my famous "but scratch"

He was not begging.. he was just wanting to talk to someone.. and that is what I did to him for as long as I could stand next to his cage.. then would go sit down and rest a bit, and then go back to talk and give some rubs and scratches.. the following day I took a treat.. when he first took it.. he spit it out.. then his mouth starting salavting and he got it right off the ground.. only had 3-4 but they made his day..

I still try and stop buy and say hi and give him something, just to say hi

There were two dogs I became friends with that day Oliver the Rottweller

And Bob a pit bull

Bob chewing on my arm.. a good guy.. just all mouth

Russ, you do not have A/C for your house?? 99 degrees out & 98?? degrees in!! :O:O Punta Chivato does not have electricity?? Let's chip in for our Nomad Amigo!!:tumble:

shari - 6-24-2010 at 04:53 PM

I've had a long sleeve T-shirt on all day and just put on a sweater...chilly wind at the moment...brrrr.

Russ - 6-24-2010 at 05:12 PM

No, no power in PC. Yes, I have a generator but am too cheap to run it with the AC (older window unit) I have. Thinking about a mini split but would like to trade my Honda 3000i for a 2000i for fuel conservation. That would be great if the Nomads would run power to PC :bounce: because the only time we hear about power here is election time. So the rumors are flying now. With a fan it isn't too bad.

capt. mike - 6-25-2010 at 08:10 AM

Russ there are many solar AC solutions out there. The Israel's units are the best i think at 24 and 48 V. DC.
also huge industry advances in direct/indirect cooling using 1/10 the wattage of conventional piston and rotary compressors. you need a water supply for those however. and they are impervious to the pitfalls of traditional swamp cooling. i.e. - heavy humidity - no factor!

when can i come install??!!

None here... Never heard of such a thing but for sure one would have to up size the solar system. Bring it down. We'll hook'r up!:bounce:

capt. mike - 6-25-2010 at 09:28 AM

Russ you can see them [solar lo volt compressors splits] in Los Cabos area, which is where i 1st discovered them in 2007 fall while down for the race. they are pricey. designed esprecially for the off grid clientele who needs and can afford the technology.

but the D/I coolers have not found their way to mexico yet. too new.
i have them but import duty and freightwill make them a tad spendy.
that said i would have one if living on the SOC side during summer IF i had a water supply for the 2nd stage exchanger. they save elec but USE water.
