jeremias - 6-23-2010 at 06:16 PM

I'll donate the file, just let me know who to send it to!

Udo - 6-23-2010 at 06:23 PM

Send it to Doug (bajanomad). I'm sure he'll see it eventually.
I'll be second in line for the shirts/jackets/hats/chalecos:light:

KAT54 - 6-23-2010 at 06:35 PM

Does not it looks like vampire?
Maybe goth?

hmm......does look a bit evil guess! .... I could try something nicer looking... :)

noproblemo2 - 6-23-2010 at 07:35 PM

Nope it's just the warm sun we bask in here melting away the pressures of up north of the stress line, gotta see positive things in life not negatives..........maybe a little more orange in the red areas would take the negative thoughts out for some????

[Edited on 6-24-2010 by noproblemo2]

DENNIS - 6-23-2010 at 07:47 PM

Isn't this an Aztec calendar....not Mayan?

I believe it is an Aztec calendar. I could try a different font that's not so blood drippy, and maybe a margarita in there somewhere......or a picture of a human sacrifice in progress.

noproblemo2 - 6-23-2010 at 07:53 PM

Sun and Maggies, what more can one want in life???

leave him alone you guys!....it looks great!...i'm in for whatever you do with it...a really nice, clean look..fab job!

shari - 6-24-2010 at 07:28 AM

hey jeremias...you asked for input...yes, it's interesting and different, but I gotta agree about the bloody, goth image...too much red and drippy and I dont think the calendar has much to do with Baja...it's more the mainland image. But that being said, I bet you can play with it some more and come up with something really spectacular...maybe a more baja image superimposed...a whale or panga or cactus or a tecate(kidding) or something... but I'd like to see a new more interesting Nomad t-shirt for sure...thanks for working on this amigo.

David K - 6-24-2010 at 08:02 AM

Would like to see the peninsula map better, too dark... Cool work still!

bajafreaks - 6-24-2010 at 08:12 AM

Cool look...but it's a little Raider's of the lost arkish.;)

DENNIS - 6-24-2010 at 08:14 AM

After looking at it again this AM, it is a bit gloomy. Great art-work, but a bit on the depressing side.
There are so many facets of Baja, you're going to have a tough time pleasing everybody, but don't let that stop you from trying.

Your work is really great, very, very nice. But I agree with shari ---the first thing that came to mind when I looked at it was that the calendar just does not work for Baja.

So I would like it better with a different image, but to find the ultimate Baja image will be tough. Baja means something different to everyone.

Nice job----but also agree that it is a little too on the vampire side.

Then again, you think you can please everyone?:lol::lol:

wsdunc - 6-24-2010 at 09:21 AM

I also feel that it looks a bit dark, but if it was available today on a non white t-shirt I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

tiotomasbcs - 6-24-2010 at 09:31 AM

How about a Hot Queen Calafia like Raquel Welsh drapped over the Peninsula! There are lots of good ideas here! Choose a few and let us vote?? or just go for it!!!:yes:

DENNIS - 6-24-2010 at 10:00 AM

Or...rip off some scenes from that Photoshopped calendar. Most of them are beautiful.

BajaSerg - 6-24-2010 at 11:07 AM

Great Job, but It’s a little to dark just lightened it up so you can see more detail.

jeremias - 6-24-2010 at 01:42 PM

love the critique thanks! I'm no artist that's for sure.....but I will keep trying, just need all your ideas, so keep them coming.... hey, maybe we could get a contest going here!

jeremias - 6-24-2010 at 02:09 PM

does the junior nomad status change at 100 posts? hmmm

ecomujeres - 6-24-2010 at 02:50 PM

How about a cave painting image? This would be more symbolic of Baja than the calendar.

willyAirstream - 6-24-2010 at 03:16 PM

I created a bunch of baja t shirt designs and have a store, but my post got deleted.

Uhhhhhhh....Jeremias, you forgot to add the little "TM" after BajaNomad.com ;)

You guys must never have heard of copyright or trademark infringement?

I think if Doug ever tires of his chosen logo for his site, he'd probably have solicited input from the members....but since he didn't, I personally think it's a bit tacky volunteering changes to his chosen logo in a public arena without having asked Doug privately if he'd be interested. Smacks of being nominated for a full make-over in public or on television.

Just my dos centavos!

jeremias - 6-24-2010 at 08:26 PM

your completely right, my bad. I think i got caught up in the tshirt discussion. Sorry Doug! His font is much better anyways, I just wasn't able to find it. What can i say, the waves are flat and there's no work.....

[Edited on 6-25-2010 by jeremias]

jeremias - 6-24-2010 at 11:56 PM

then again, what would be even tackier than making a logo to promote somebodies site.... would be this.....

capt. mike - 6-25-2010 at 07:58 AM

....... don't quit your day job....hahaha.

T-Shirt Images

walters886 - 6-28-2010 at 10:55 AM

Jeremias,

You have inspired us to make our own t-shirts! My wife and I have tried to capture the "spirit" of Baja - as we see it. We stole your idea of using Power Point for the design program and pirated every graphic and logo in good fun using a simple screen capture program or free clip art on the web.

For the image:

We added glinting sun glasses to the pirated pirate image to reflect hipness and coolness.

Bleeding bullet hole represents the deep sadness and shame of boarder violence with no end.

Dancing flute glyph celebrates our love of soulful Mexican music. Reverse glyph image represents a jazz inversion that's still true to the original melody (think John Coltrane).

Added fictitious website for the best BN soap opera discussion ever and two mini turtle clip art images.

We could never improve on Doug's (BajaNomad) original idea and logo so we simply added an "a" to the title.

Finally, added a phrase in cobbled up Spanish as a tease to the "Peace, Love and Fish Tacos" motto. It translates loosely as "I would love to have a piece of your fish taco..."

Production was simple. A few shots of tequila, Avery iron on t-shirt transfers, white BVD tees and voila! A home made Baja Nomada shirt. Fun to make and better than using a magic marker. Thanks for the inspiration!

If you want the original PPT files PM me. They're about a half meg each in size.

Nice graphics although the translation of the copy seems strange.
"Un pedazo" translates to "A piece" and who could eat only one piece of a good fish taco.

capt. mike - 6-28-2010 at 12:01 PM

is that Johnny Depp??

I don't think Johnny Depp had a leak in his forehead either.

fishabductor - 6-28-2010 at 12:23 PM

Good eye's on the dead Depp

wilderone - 7-4-2010 at 09:36 AM

Nice piece of art but doesn't capture that Baja Feeling.
