Bruce Meyers Toad

hayleemilo - 7-21-2004 at 04:03 PM

Hi Everyone, I have been contacted by a friend to sell something for him. However, I need to verify something. Supposedly, this is the original toad that bruce broke his legs in. I never believe anything until I can prove it. Does anyone know how to find out what the serial number was on the toad that was his? Please email me at Hayleemilo@msn.com as I normally don't check this board. Here is a picture of the vehicle. It was supposedly originally orange, and has since been painted

I will email this to a close friend of Bruce who might know or can find out...

hayleemilo - 7-21-2004 at 05:18 PM

Thanks David K, I appreciate it. Does anyone have any idea of a value of these vehicles if it is just another production one?

David K - 7-21-2004 at 07:29 PM

I sent it off to Bruce's friend, however if you call the number given in the link elgatoloco gave, you can probably ask Bruce himself!

From what I found out, that one crashed and burned many years ago. But, they said this was one that they didn't even have in their registry. It was made in 68 and was an early production number 213. Does anyone know if ebay would be the best venue to sell this, or where should I?

tim40 - 7-22-2004 at 10:00 PM

Not sure of the "best" way, but I can tell you that ebay does drive a lot of interest and some premium prices for MM buggies. Set a minimum and give it a week.

hayleemilo - 7-23-2004 at 10:16 PM

Thanks for the help, I just put it on Ebay last night, here's hoping!

Myers Toad

msawin - 7-24-2004 at 06:15 PM

At 16 years of age my second car was a Myers Toad..Orange....Right after my covair truck...We took this thing to pismo dunes and Glamis dunes..1600 power plant..It made it most the time...Traded for a brown AMC Grimlin....It was a great runner but That Toad was one of a kind...The photo is missing parts...The bolt on rear fenders...The bolt on front cover with windshield....The photo item to me is worth little with out the rest of the componets...$850.00 to $1,100.00 without knowing what the power plant is....

Hi,
The hood/windshield was an option in 1968 as were the fenders. It has a 1500 engine with 11:1 compression. This is a nice ride. I already turned down 4000. Thanks for the input.

price is right

msawin - 7-25-2004 at 06:13 PM

4000 peso's works out to $400.00 dolllars.I think you might hold out for a few more. If you get near 800.00 dollars grab it....

I do enjoy good humor :) $4000 USD is what I already turned down. Do me a favor, find me another one for sale. Thanks!

Score created a new class for that "manxter" Ledgends Class - only car in the class. A friend built the motor for it and another was driving in the 500 when the altinator quit in the dark and they had to drop out. It has yet to finish a Score race but we expect it to very soon - maybe the 1000 in Nov. It's built to race in the desert. Nice machine.

A neighbor down here in San Felipe has one she was wanting to sell - probably 2-2500 US anyone interested I'll get you in touch.

Think that's probably the same one we bought from Dick Johnson and sold to her for $2500 about 3 years or so ago? Nice little buggy but we were just not comforatble in it.

bajalou - 7-30-2004 at 11:12 AM

It's the same one Val but 3 years? - my how time flies
