It is because Al Gore got caught with his pants down. Russ - 7-6-2010 at 05:12 AM
74º this morning! In JULY???
Armageddon? (a dramatic and catastrophic conflict, typically seen as likely to destroy the world or the human race)

It's cooler than normal up here in Idaho also, 100 year records for low temps. have been toppled.Cypress - 7-6-2010 at 05:20 AM
Forgot to mention, it's 39 degrees right now as the sun begins to peek over the mountains.oladulce - 7-6-2010 at 06:35 AM
I'm ready to see the dreary overcast melt away and to shed the full wetsuits, sweats any time now. The highs here barely get squeak to 71-73 briefly,
then it drops back in to the 60's, and then low 50's at night- and this, a few notches North of the Tropic of Cancer in July.
At least the rootbeer color redtide has been replaced with florescent pea green color and the daily nuclear winds have subsided for a few days. I
haven't found any explanation for this weather and thought maybe it was a local phenomenon or I've just missed this transition season in the past .
Sounds like it's atypical in other parts too.
Soon when it's too hot to do any projects i'll wonder what I was whining about.vandenberg - 7-6-2010 at 06:52 AM
Beats 108 degrees in Washington D.C.
May melt some of those worthless folks there.bajajudy - 7-6-2010 at 06:54 AM
The water here is still very cool. With the wind from a southerly direction, it keeps us cool. I think it is wonderful.shari - 7-6-2010 at 06:58 AM
geezo, I had to put a fleecy jacket on last night and hangin in the camp with Cochi, I wish I'd a put some socks on!!!! come on summer....DENNIS - 7-6-2010 at 07:16 AM
It's just plain dreary up here. Can't even do outside painting till around 10 AM due to moisture.
We may be in for a season of extremes which means, when the weather turns, it'll probably be a scorcher........Pacifico for breakfast weather.rocmoc - 7-6-2010 at 07:37 AM

Agree! With the Ocean Water cool, the storms are also staying away so no rain.

Its great weather, lower electricity bills (very good under this nasty recession), but i have never seen such cool weather here this time of year, and
apparently the locals say they never seen this as well.

It has been cooler here and I love it! Still need a warm quilt at night and the mornings are overcast and beautiful! Warms up during the day, but
not hot.
OK, does anyone else prefer the cool overcast mornings and cold nights over the summer heat?gnukid - 7-6-2010 at 09:12 AM
No complaints... I like it just the way it is.. a little sun breaking out around 10-11, with low temps in the 70's... and the clouds coming back in to
keep it really very nice at night... comfortable for this old guy...
When you guys start coming in with that 108º stuff.. on the east coast .... that is just plain miserable.. can't think of better place to get that
kind of weather..bill erhardt - 7-6-2010 at 09:35 AM

June gloom and it is July.DianaT - 7-6-2010 at 12:10 PM
Do you think we can keep June gloom for all of July? We can hope anyway.

I was thinking the same yesterday afternoon, as the sun barely burned through the clouds around 3PM and lasted for about an hour. Just a couple of
miles from Disneyland.bajabass - 7-6-2010 at 12:39 PM
Heavy overcast and drizel in Orange, and down on Balboa Island. Still WAY to crowded for me!eetdrt88 - 7-7-2010 at 04:11 PM
AZ east of phoenix, typical summer heat here the temp right now is 106...must be the most predictable place in the world as far as the weather goesBajahowodd - 7-7-2010 at 04:27 PM
And why so many Arizonans vacation in the San Diego area in summertime.k-rico - 7-7-2010 at 11:05 PM
The weak El Nino of this past winter has quickly turned into a weak La Nina condition which means cooler Pacific ocean temperatures. Cool ocean + hot
desert/inland valleys = marine layer along those parts of the coast and generally cooler/dryer in the eastern Pacific.
La Ninas also correlate with a busier hurricane season in the Atlantic.
