I think Punta Rosarito north of Guerrero Negro and west of the village of Rosarito. This is a surfers hangout, or used to be anyhoo.

I have meet the guy who built it. He spends months surfing, because of the wind and flat spells he builds stuff. It took more time to collect the
rocks then it did to build. It is pure art, done for the betterment of all that enjoy it. He also believes that someone will push it down one day. His
camp is just south of there and is easy to spot. I don't know if he wants his name posted so I won't.Taco de Baja - 7-8-2010 at 02:39 PM
Probably built by surfers when the waves dropped to ankle slappers. Someone posted some pictures of it around 4 years ago, but I can't recall where
it was, just somewhere on the Pacific, more than likely one of those "secret spots"

now that is amazing.Bielefeld - 7-8-2010 at 03:02 PM
Barry and Mike are right: about 10 mi south of Santa Rosaliita. I was told it is called "the wall" by the surfers.
It has a nice osprey nest on top.
@ Mike: Did the guy say how he built it? Did he use a scaffold??? Because it is freestanding and no cement was used. Imagine the weight until the top
stone was set in!!!

@ Mike: was this the camp of the builder? This bed is a fireplace. So you can be nice and toasty at night...

----and believe me, you NEED that wall to be cozy when the on-shore hurricane is a-blowing (often)-------neat place, tho. When we were there there
were a lot of those "walls" built to hunker down behind-----and we did!!!

very cool..thanks for sharingBielefeld - 7-8-2010 at 04:48 PM
Since the osprey nest was not occupied, I had to look. Not too comfortable for the next generation

See posts from Paulina for more photos at 'The Wall' (Punta Rosarito).Mike99km - 7-9-2010 at 09:31 AM
Yes, that is his camp. He built a smaller one years ago and it was torn down, so he built that one. He fits the rock together and uses smaller stones
to hold it all in place. He is a true craftsman. He pulls up in his camper and sets up some solar powered lights, there is a kitchen and walk ways
when he's there it is very cool camp.woody with a view - 7-9-2010 at 06:14 PM

Here's a few pix I took a few years ago.....simply amazing!
Mike99km - 7-15-2010 at 05:35 PM
That is the camp, there is more off to the left of the stove.
Glen' s camp is always in the same place, I don't think anybody uses it besides Glen. I think it's like they reserve the place for the mayor. The Sculpin - 7-16-2010 at 09:29 AM
I have surfed many scorpion bay and east cape swells with Glenn. Truly a cool dude!!SiReNiTa - 7-16-2010 at 11:16 AM
