Asuncion BOLA July 4th week

Made a trip down to Asuncion hoping that the water temperature and weather would be more fish friendly than on the Cortez. Original plan was to fish Dorado in Loreto,
but all the reports looked like the fish were few and far out.
Took a chance on Asuncion. It was cool and blustery. Went out and fished all the high and low spots reefs etc. Got SKUNKED! Boy I never thought that that would happen.
The winds got stronger the next day and nobody was going out. So we went to BOLA. We checked in at Raquel and Larrys. They had good working air conditioning in the room. I was sorry to hear that Ruth is leaving to go work
in Ensenada. The weather was at first kind of cool for July and very windy. We could only fish half a day. very few fish.
The following day,the Friday before the Tournament we were
able to hook up with Rafa. He is one of the best guides there.
He put us on to the fish and also kept us comfortable by keeping us in the lee side of any wind as we went around the islands. Soaked some live makerals for one 40 plus pounder, and a few twenty pound yellowtail. The water temperature at both Asuncion and BOLA was a lot cooler than normal. The air temperature really went up at BOLA after all the cool wind died down and the humidity and heat came in. Does anyone know how the fishing is at CAMALU
or CASTROS CAMP?
