Widening the highway south from Tecate...
They are annoying enough to consider another route... specially for motorhomes and trailers!
There are 4 dirt detours between Tecate and Valle de las Palmas at Km. 26. They total 6.7 miles in length (last Tuesday).
Instead of Hwy. 3:
Otay to Blvd. 2000 is the way to go south.
Popotla to Tecate via Blvd. 2000 and Hwy. 2 is the way to go north.
The rest of Hwy. 3, south to Ensenada is great... All new from just north of Guadalupe to Hwy. 1.

looks way better then the Gonzaga road and only 7 miles. I had no problem a week ago with trailer and ATV.

Yes, but for those expecting a fast paved way to Ensenada or Tecate... adding an hour with the waits and slow trucks on the dirt detours may be
something people would want to avoid.
Blvd. 2000 with Mex. 2 and Mex. 1 (free roads) on each side is a detour route.
