Who Killed Raquel?

Have the Mexicops figured out who shot Raquel? Was there ever a for real investigation? I heard a few years back that they tried to pin it on Larry. We had beers at Raquel and Larry's a few months before the incident. A very nice lady and a hard worker.

There are Police now in BOLA. They strut into restaurants with their machine guns at the ready. What a joke they are.

I, also, would like to know the outcome of this investigation. We visited there several years ago and Raquel was quite nice to us. Cold beer, internet access, whatever we wanted, just walking around the place. She was a charm.

I feel the same way. After being robbed and seeing the joke in action. I know the cops aren't there to help anyone except themselves.

Around here they patrol at night with their red lights flashing so the thieves have plenty of warning.

I don't and I doubt anyone does know who killed Raquel.
I was surprised to see your attitude towards the police. I know Moises the comandante and Razon the #2 guy personally. They are both dedicated to making the community a better place to live. I know that Moises has donated his own money on several occasions to help local kids that have drug problems. And this from a man who makes a little more than $700 US a month. They don't have much to work with and also do not have much support from the local population but they seem to care. Anything we can do to help is better than just critisizing someone who has less than we do but is trying to do the right thing.

What type of police???? Local, State or Federal. Is that still in Ensenada jurisdiction???

Mexican local police do not own or use machine guns, that is only for the military to use and they for sure are not local police. Municipal police are ususally paid for by the Municipio and are very poorly paid ( I have a friend who in San Lucas Ejido who has been a policeman for 19 years and he makes around 500 peosos a month). Federales (black and white cars) are a little better paid and are educated. The real bad guys are the Judicial and the locals really shake when they get questioned by them.

San Jose Municial Police have machine guns. They have MP5's, M16s, and the standard green mexican military machine gun.

They drive around in trucks armed to the teeth, and when I got my drivers license a few weeks ago. The police all came in to the station and dropped off their weapons at the armory before going home at night. They even left their pistols. I remember thinking these guys are sitting ducks at night. :?::?:

From what I have heard Fedrales make about $500,000 pesos a year. Roughly $3300/usd a month.

It is common in many places around the world. I really first noticed it while staying in Mexico City. Two main arguments are that despite the lack of surprise, it does tend to alert bad guys to police presence, and may be a deterrent. Second, it is considered to allow the police to make fewer stops where they may imperil themselves.
