After spending more than twenty full summers in Mexico I can safely state that this one is one of the cooler ones I remember.
I remember summers when the temperature in July for San Lucas averaged 101/82
San Jose 104/82
La Paz 110/88
Sta Rosalia 106/88
When I glanced at the thermometer on the patio this AM I noticed it was 79F and the skies were overcast.
Last July the temperatures soared well into the middle nineties, but did not do so once in 2010.

The true test will be the month of August! About ten years ago here on the pacific in BCS people were using blankets in August!! Heat and humidity

Yeah, I'm amazed. I'm usually on the Pacific side mid-July due to the heat.

nothing. the intense years are the in-between years of La or El as either transitions to the other. it seems like there hasn't been a decent hurricane

I am on the coast of Michoacan about 800 miles south of Mazatlan.
BTW cool(er) does not necessarily mean cool. One early July day several decades ago found Sta Rosalia at 119 degrees and the town emptied and people
went up on the bluffs to catch a breeze.
In Cabo one summer I remember 22 days in a row when the temperature climbed to above 102F. About four miles from the water. The coolest hideout I
found was at Pescadero, where at the edge of getting wet from sea spray I saw eighty-seven degrees. The humidity made it uncomfortable.
In Mulege I remember one summer not that long ago when the morning low NEVER dipped below 88 degrees for more than two months, and the daytime high on
Concepcion beaches was well in excess of 110F.
But the corker came on an afternoon in July in the late seventies when I encountered 122F in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora. It was so hot the tar in the road
got sticky and you couldn't touch anything outside exposed to the sun.

etc.? They were up to 4 months ago, calling for a summer
El Nino along the Orange Co, San Diego coast,
I never saw ocean temps last winter to justify
that. I believe abundance of info now available, as opposed
to 15 yrs. ago, re: equator ocean temps by sattellite,etc.,

When I went fishing out of La Paz last week, the water was much cooler than I remember it from last July. The water was definitely cool to the touch.

El Centenario....approx 10 miles from Morgaine7's place....I think my pool might have more hours a day of full sun (larger area, shorter perimeter
walls) & it's gotten up to 85 ONE day this year! Holding pretty steady at 83 for the past week. 9AM, sun is up, but hiding

The coastline here has been overcast just about every morning with only a few exceptions. The good news is that most days it does clear up so we get
