Ana's at Santispac Beach

Pompano - 7-29-2010 at 04:47 AM

We had this lunch a couple months ago...May 31, 2010.

A shameless plug for our buddies, Russ & Guadalupe, at Ana's Cafe, Santispac. It's a fun place to eat on the beach.
Good food, good music, good cantina. The place rocks for us.

Today's lunch was burritos and pescado with lemonades. It hit the spot.

Closed for the summer? Re-open in October?? I may post a funny story about my first visit there in '91.

I believe Summer Hours are 2 pm to night.

However, I stopped by last week at 9 a.m.
Russ was settled in with coffee and summer beach quietude.
He graciously provided my family's request for early-morning soft drinks.

Russel has not opened for breakfast or lunch for a couple of years now. 2 PM is the opening time every day but Wednesdays. They are closed on Wednesdays.

Ana's used to be a regular stop after fishing. I would launch and return at the beach in Santispac, knowing that a great lunch could be had there. Now, I plan otherwise. These hours are fine for people who live at in the Bahia, but for Mulege residents who want to eat and drink, the hours of operation often puts you at risk, driving back to Mulege after dark.

From a business standpoint, Russel knows what he is doing. He is aware of the pros and cons of his chosen hours and has made his decision. :(

It is still a great place if you want to eat and drink in the late afternoons and get home early. I just find myself not doing that a lot.
