They're suppose to send me a report but you pretty much said it all:o I think I'll wait until they at least get their socks off before heading over. I think I'd freeze on the beach with my surf rig waiting for the bite. Not mordida;D

today is downright chilly Russ...cool south breeze blowing off the ocean...I had to close the windows!!

This is usually the "turnaround" week" when the Humboldt cold current gives up the ghost and warm waters start filling in bringing the yellowtail here just in time for the Governors Cup fishing tournament next weekend.

It's always like this the first week of August...everyone worried about the fish not coming for the tournament and then a few days before the tournament...voila...the water gets warm all of a sudden and fish appear...so things should warm up next week amigo.

Lots of halibut being brought in along the beaches these days...sure wish there was a fisheries guy patrolling because I keep hearing tales of guys catching 30-40 halibut at a time...limit is 5! Good news is there is a new Profepa boss going to live here now so these abuses should be adressed soon...heads up to people coming to fish to have their papers/permits in order as there will be more checking this season.

Russ, looking good again... the clouds really add something to the colors and composition ... thanks much for getting up and letting us see what you see in the morning... :):)

"I keep hearing tales of guys catching 30-40 halibut at a time"

Shari, hope that is all it is ... just tales.. and it also good to hear someone will be checking on things... a sorry state of affairs that folks can't just to right on their own... its not all that hard..

Never understood folks that fish is a manner where they take more than they are allowed ... that isn't a real hard one... to me..

Maybe if you have a family of 40-50...

Makes my day to find many here, who fish, do so in responsible manner..
:):)

That's really sad about the halibut Shari. Hope they are not abusing the boca dulce or corbina. Who's taking all these Halibut? Locals or tourist? Do locals have the same limits as tourist?

There going to fish them all out like the fishermen at Popotla here in Rosarito

they just rape the ocean catchin lobster all yr. All the fish they can hold its crazy

No one cares. Fish is scarce around the shore, lobsters are like the size of shrimp! its nutts!

As usual, I just love it!
