cjesme - 8-5-2010 at 08:59 AM

Hi All, I am now a true resident of Baja Norte. Do you folks ever meet up for social hour? Splash is a great place. We would like to meet some other nomad members. Please let us know.

Nomada Keri runs the place.

I believe a few just about "live" there.... have heard the "bar" is really quite nice... the food is pretty good too...

cjesme - 8-5-2010 at 09:25 AM

Dennis, I just sent a u2u to Keri. I believe she runs the area by the Pyramid, but not sure. I am looking forward to meeting her.
Splash is a great restaurant and bar, plus the fishing out front is fabulous!

Another place you may want to see is Margaritaville in Puerto Nuevo, operated by Dave. He's a long time Nomad.

My familia moms side, we are from K31 La Barca doesnt really exist anymore

"La Barca" But its still there. I go to my place once a week. :D

I'll look for Dave at Margaritaville! Found a new restaurant on the last road in the middle. It was great too.

La Barca, never heard of it.

Why don't we plan a social hour for all. It would be fun.

A social hour sounds good to us.
We are for the most part, weekenders in Baja
so if it is planned on on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday count us in (expect this weekend, hubby flew to Cabo to get some sun!)
Just let us know where!

DENNIS - 8-5-2010 at 12:17 PM

Margaritaville would be perfect for a get-together. It's a well stocked gin-mill with great food.

Just like Nomad.

Hi Dennis

Gypsy Jan - 8-5-2010 at 02:05 PM

How about a Gaggle?

"The nickname is thought to stem from the idea that these more freewheeling press sessions, where the talk is much more rapid and free-form, are like a "gaggle of geese" honking. For example, the blog maintained by Newsweek magazine's political reporters is called The Gaggle; on their main page, their definition for "gaggle" when used to refer to the Washington, D.C. press, is "a flock of reporters pecking at a politician."

You have plenty of time to gather your teams and test your recipes on your friends and neighbors.

In addition to the chili cook-off there will be a Salsa Contest (the food, not the dance – well, maybe there'll be some dancing later in the day.) There will be cash prizes for the best chili, best salsa and best booth.

And be sure to check out the new Facebook page for the cookoff:
