Good news. New ferry service from Cabo San Lucas to Mazatlan. Might be tough to find insurance and they only go on calm days when there are no storms in the area.

Just kidding: photo courtesy Terry and Gary Mercer, owners of San Ignacio Springs (The Yurts). The ferry was between Puerto Escondido and Loreto.

Aaahhhh come on DK.. you getting OLD :)

Imagine you in the old Baja days.... unmarried all set up in your buggy .... yeah, you only drove the speed limit and never got sideways... or worse...:lol::lol:

And I know you never drove down here in the middle of nowhere with a few beers under your belt and a cool one in your hand...

Watch out your nose will grow...:lol:

David K - 8-7-2010 at 10:55 PM

I don't see the connection... never drove the speed limit, got sideways at least once, had a few beers and went into nowhere... all true:yes::wow:

I meant I wouldn't want a good truck (Toyota) to get lost in the sea... THAT kind if risk. ;)

The terrain there isn't fit for a halftrack, never mind a pick up.:no:

Ed there is a road from one of the beaches on the north end over to Salinitas, the very sparsely populated salt mining town on the east side. And I think there are other roads, maybe one to the airstrip they say is on the island? The town is interesting. We beached the boat one day, and I walked around a little. There is a nice little chapel, there were clothes drying on the line, but no one in sight. I felt like I might be intruding, so I didn't hang around. But I did see a truck, maybe the one in the picture, and I'd like to go back and chat with the residents some time.
