Good luck hauling through Ensenada. I counted 34 stop lights while driving north earlier this week. Starting at the first light in south Maneadero to the last light before the first toll road toll booth. It can be a loooooong haul if you hit a lot of red lights. And just south of Maneadero is a lot of road construction. Looks like they're making it into a 4 lane highway but I'm not sure.

I forgot, I smile!

Give the people I most love a great big hug. Usually start with the smallest, my granddaughter, she's 5 now.

True... for me first smile is when we are on the road, second is when we cross the border, third is when we are out of the city zones of San Quintin or Mexicali, fourth is when we see the first boojum tree or the blue Sea of Cortez... and the biggest smile is when we leave the pavement!

woody with a view - 8-14-2010 at 09:12 AM

My first smile is when I take my shoes off.

My second smile is when I read the reaction to it.

capt. mike - 8-15-2010 at 07:28 AM

take a leak and then find a bar with some cold beer.....

BajaBlanca - 8-15-2010 at 10:26 AM

x3

Barbareno - 8-15-2010 at 11:08 AM

What I would really like to do after tipping back some beers and squeezing the stuffing out of all my friends, is to fill up my travel mug. grab my dog and head for the beach and do a long walk. See if Ottis remembers his home land. Will he be shy of the water like he use to be? Will he get into chasing the birds that he just started to do a week prior to leaving for Canada?

That's easy: Taco Bell!! :saint:
I haven't lived in the US for decades, but when I go for a visit, I find myself seeking out TB, "real" Mexican restaurants, and thrift stores (stateside versions of the segundas).

When I come home, I usually say hi to my neighbors (who always somehow know I'm back), pour a glass of wine, and watch the sunset.

From wiki-

Mexico

Taco Bell has attempted to enter the Mexican market twice. After a highly-publicised launch in Mexico City in 1992, all the restaurants were closed two years later. In September 2007 Taco Bell returned to Monterrey, this time promoting itself as selling American food, but closed in January 2010 due to low patronage.

MsTerieus - 8-15-2010 at 07:23 PM

I must say: a CRAVING for Taco Bell is just beyond my comprehension, especially when returning from Mexico.

redmesa - 8-15-2010 at 10:28 PM

Ottis is looking mighty majestic these days. See ya on the beach, Barb. That is my second thing to do.

Marc - 8-16-2010 at 06:39 AM

A cold Tecate at Hussong's.:yes::P

Pompano - 8-16-2010 at 06:54 AM
