Don't know if this has been mentioned on the board or not, but in case it hasn't you have to check-out Skype if you haven't yet.

I was in China last week speaking to
people in the office in CA. Voice quality beats a cell phone.
They will try to make money charging for calls to land-lines and mobiles in the future.
