when you want to identify a whale, it helps to indicate it's size, colour, if it was alone or in a group, and if it had a dorsal fin and what it looked like.

Saw two off Loreto yesterday, very large, dark grey or blue, very small shark like fin. Looked to be cow and a calf.

Could be blues or finbacks.

Small dorsals are usually fin whales. Saw lots of sperm whales two weeks ago at LA Bay. 83 degree water. They're easy to id because you can usually see the blunt forehead while they're on the surface.
