Have any of you camped at Punta Final? If so, what kind of sites do they have?

Great snorkeling pass Sleeping Snoopy point...good fishing too. Camping....when we were there a few times...there's a primitive outhouse...not much else. A small community there too. About 7 miles off the Highway (rough estimate) on a decent dirt road.

Punta Final has rough camping but they charge $7 per day and it ain't worth it...if you wanna camp go to Campo Beluga (? charge) or the Rodriguez Palapas...I think they charge $5 per day. Beluga has good toilets and running water....Rodriguez may have that...ask.

Punta Final was bought by a Korean/Argentinian business man who has started to evict the residents and/or charge them a 400% increase in rental rates. He think he's gonna build a resort there. If he does he will lose his shirt!....hotter than billy hell in summer up against the rocks there, cold and windy in winter with no shelter from the open sea. He put up a web site a couple of years ago showing a nicely paved road to his "resort.".....only problema was that the only paved road anywhere close was 37 miles away at Mex 1 at Lake Chapala.

Punta Final, however, is closer to the coves on the south east side of Gonzaga Bay...they are very nice and worth the visit. Buy you'll need a boat. The proprietor at Punta Final does, however, have a rough road to one of the formerly isolated beaches....he may allow camping there...check.

No cantina there and I'm not sure if you can get water there...you may have to go to Beluga or Rancho Grande for that.

Yup, Pta. Final is a residential area and not a tourist camp...

Campo El Sacrificio, Campo Beluga, Playa Grande (Rodriguez'), and Papa Fernandez' have camping places or are camping businesses.
