sorry, bob...abductor and i got carried away on the other thread..

DENNIS - 8-26-2010 at 07:19 AM

Strange weather. We're fogged in at the moment. The weather changes so little here I don't even have an outside thermometer.

The A/C takes the humidity out of the air, whch makes that 2 degree difference feel like 15.
We keep all the doors and windows closed at all times during those dogdays of summer. Actual temperatures inside not much different from outside , but feels a lot cooler. Run the A/C only after 3 to 4pm and in bedroom all night. Have an electric bill to prove it.
Running it 24/7 would break me.:no::biggrin:

mulegemichael - 8-26-2010 at 08:28 AM

frank sure seems to be curling around back at us now...scary as hell

I have three older window type AC's and set them on 80 degrees, Economy setting, and supplement a little with fans to keep the air moving. My Elec bill has been very reasonable with this type of setting. If I am fishing, I usually only leave on the bedroom but if I am home and doing things, then I might run all three during the afternoon. But I am very comfortable, find it not that bad when I go outdoors , and electric bill runs under $60 for the month during the hottest part of summer.

Thur. AM update
Appears to be weakening and by Tues. AM will just be an afterthought.

mulegemichael - 8-26-2010 at 09:27 AM

gawd, i hope you're right, russ...we sure don't need another one this year

Bob and Susan - 8-26-2010 at 10:10 AM

if the rains crosses the mountains
you guys on the river could get flooded again

it might turn north
and just "make waves"

we're starting to "batten down"

Bob and Susan - 8-26-2010 at 10:22 AM

afternoon update...

Bob and Susan - 8-26-2010 at 10:24 AM

partly cloudy here

bay is flat
outside is choppy

Bajahowodd - 8-26-2010 at 11:27 AM

Based upon that last photo posted, I gotta go with Russ. This thing doesn't look very well defined, even considering where it is presently located. The water on the Pacific side up past Cabo is much cooler than the water South of Cabo or in the SOC. I don't think it stands a chance to be anything more than showers.

shari - 8-26-2010 at 11:28 AM

thanks for the onsight weather reports...keep them coming por favor.

It is clear, and hot and muggy for here...probably in the high 80's today, no wind, swell is down from yesterday and looks around 6-8'...the guys are out diving and fishing...big yellowtail at san roque island reported.

party planning mode for bajagypsies going away bash at "The Shed" this afternoon BBQ yellowtail and sirena & adrian's pizza, beth's brownies, zoe's salad etc etc....same old same old...except for Mr.Gypsy has promised his famous Wasabi Ceasars...hmmm

Russ - 8-26-2010 at 11:51 AM

12:45 pm ~ wind ENE @ 20+ ~ clear ~ 92º ~ 81%hum ~ Barometer steady ~124º heat index

A tad warm and muggy Russ?

shari - 8-26-2010 at 03:55 PM

it's real hot and muggy here today...ewww...Frank's projected path is kinda interesting. This was the same path Jimena took and she had us pretty worried. Looks like Frank will tone it down by the time he blows up our way but ya never know. Seems that when the projected path is between Tortugas & Abreojos...the storms scream over to the other side looking for warm water and sparing us but trashing others.

Looks like some rain clouds over the mid-lower baja this afternoon...any updates?

Shhhhhhhh

Mulegena - 8-26-2010 at 05:25 PM

Mulege:

Hot, overcast today with the usual cooling wind from the north-east.

Four 4pm wind temp got ho-double hockeysticks hott, then changed to dirt-carrying gusts from out of the valley south-east.

Winds and temp has "normalized" again.

Everyone here watches and waits.
Storm's computer image being shown in Pinguino Market.
Everyone here is totally serious about this season!

Udo - 8-26-2010 at 05:29 PM

Looks like Shari & Juan are going to take a hit in a few days.

Bob and Susan - 8-27-2010 at 04:36 AM

Russ - 8-27-2010 at 05:30 AM

FRANK CONTINUES TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN. THE EYE FEATURE THAT HAS BEEN
APPARENT IN MICROWAVE DATA FOR THE PAST DAY OR SO IS NO LONGER
EVIDENT. IN ADDITION...THE CENTRAL DENSE OVERCAST HAS SHRUNK AND
ERODED OVER THE EASTERN SEMICIRCLE DURING THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS.
DVORAK T-NUMBERS ARE 65 KT AND 77 KT FROM TAFB AND SAB...
RESPECTIVELY...AND ON THIS BASIS THE INITIAL INTENSITY IS LOWERED
TO 70 KT. A COMBINATION OF MODERATE EAST-NORTHEASTERLY SHEAR...A
MORE STABLE ATMOSPHERE...AND STEADILY DECREASING SEA SURFACE
TEMPERATURES ALONG THE FORECAST TRACK SHOULD LEAD TO CONTINUED
WEAKENING DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

THE HURRICANE CONTINUES MOVING WEST-NORTHWESTWARD OR 285/9...AND IS
RIGHT ALONG THE PREVIOUS FORECAST TRACK. THE TRACK FORECAST
REASONING IS UNCHANGED FROM EARLIER. A WEST-NORTHWEST TO NORTHWEST
MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 12-24 HOURS FOLLOWED BY
A MORE NORTHWARD MOTION AS A DEEP LAYER TROUGH AMPLIFIES OVER THE
WESTERN UNITED STATES. THIS TRACK FORECAST IS AN UPDATE OF THE
PREVIOUS ONE.

clouds here are from the mainland:saint:

I don't think we will even get the rain we were hoping for.:fire::fire:

Udo - 8-27-2010 at 12:19 PM

It sure shrunk in the last 7 hours.

Russ - 8-27-2010 at 12:50 PM

Whoa, don't count this out for a few showers yet. If it moves as earlier predicted it may start a Northerly turn by tomorrow night. Lets just watch it a little longer. My bet is there won't be any big storm from the remnants of Frank but it could influence some local showers to develop.

rts551 - 8-27-2010 at 02:25 PM

you might get a few. it is turning east

Bring it on, had it rain downpour for a week only 2" on our street.
Don't wish it on anyone else but we need the water.

A little like Norberto a couple years ago. Much ado about nothing, let's hope. ;)

We had a Hurricane Party on the patio. Norberto failed to show.
