As Amnesty International noted, Central and South American immigrants are far from popular in Mexico. They have always been viewed as competition for
the jobs in El Norte. I'm thinking that Calderon made a self-serving statement when he referred to the cartels needing to turn to the illegals from
the South because they can't get enough Mexican help. Makes it seem like his drug war is working.
