I couldn't pass this deal up on Craig's List: 200 for $17, factory 'sealed' with gloss. Now what? I don't like the color, it's very uniform. Has
anyone tried to stain these to get a more rustic, funky look? I have a 180 sq ft patio in Baja that I hope to use these so I can experiment on quite a

Just pour a little water on one and if it absorbs, you should be able to do the same with stain.

they will get stained over time. old sealant will breakdown with time. if you want to speed up the discloration, just don't apply any new sealants

Try installing them as is and let foot traffic wear through the factory seal a bit (probably not necessary as the factory seal is still slightly
porous). Will not take long at all. Then try a dark stain applied for a very rustic adobe clay look. The more coats you apply the darker the look.
Also use a contrasting grout to bring out the rustico look.

Just got back from the concrete supply house and they said no way - all their stuff will not work on clay products??? Found a supplier of stain made

saltillos.

I had to stain some bricks to match older bricks for a room addition, and used a thinned wood stain. I dipped them in a tray filled with the stain.
Before I came up with this idea - which worked very well - I searched for concrete stain products. They're out there, but in limited colors. The
