The weather here has been more like Guerrero Negro than Pescadero, cool with a marine layer most of the day.

Russ, you are absolutely right. I had all the windows open this morning and kinda forgot how the roosters, chickens, and dogs sound in the morning, not to mention the great array of cars that go up and down the street with their unique sounds.

72 degrees on the terrace this morning at Lomas de Palmira neighborhood in La Paz.

Weird outbreaks of fires in Detroit and Colorado, Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico getting hammered with storms, mainland Mexico drowning in floods in north and south parts of country . . . we are lucky to be where we are, this year at least.

bajajazz - 9-10-2010 at 10:38 AM

Has the middle of October (traditional cooling-off date) arrived a month early, or are we going to go back into steambath mode? Anyone care to hazard an informed opinion or a BS guess?

Bob and Susan - 9-10-2010 at 02:28 PM

the "real" heat is over

oladulce - 9-10-2010 at 05:15 PM

I hope that's not it for the summer. The water reached a glorious of 83° (highest so far this year for here) for about 2 of the hot days last week and has plummeted rapidly to 68-69ish with the cold winds of the past 2 days. If 2 days of no wetsuit is going to be all I get for the year I'm going to feel jipped! Luckily, there are no pesky waves to worry about- in fact if it were any flatter, the ocean might be inverted.

One of the hot days last week BigWooo and I were paddlboarding (not the stand-up kind ) a little outside the surf line and when he stopped for a minute a 4 ft dorado appeared and began circling his board. That may happen in other parts of Baja, but that never happens here!

no storm activity whatsoever in the pacific coast of mexico. we need rain.

Casey67 - 9-11-2010 at 03:15 AM

The whole west coast up to Vancouver BC has had a relatively cold summer. Almost heading to dismal winter 55 F and cloudy/raining here already. Back to Baja soon :)

Yes, Casey...we found lots of WIND especially...from San Francisco to the Olympic Peninsula. Cooler temps than we expected, too..at least along the shore. Further inland it was actually a lot warmer, even hot in certain areas.

It has been unusual weather all over the northern hemisphere, it seems.
