Via Union-Trib story and designer Miller Hull's August press release on new SY Green Crossing
“Border crossing structures are meant to be the first impression of the country, and for the first-time visitor, the experience should be uplifting
and memorable, said Craig Curtis, partner at Miller Hull.

Does this mean they'll be closing the existing gates? Evidence of their past logic would suggest that they will. I mean, comfort and convenience has
never been their strong point.Woooosh - 9-20-2010 at 12:14 PM
It looks like the double decker booths are out after the remodel. From 24 to 34 northbound lanes. The current Mexican southbound lanes will become
the 10 new northbound lances. Then I-5 will shift way over to the right where the duty free parking lots are now. Much better traffic flow. I don't
know how much green there needs to be when you have that much CO2 car exhaust pollution. This is still 5 years from being finished and the border
guys already say the construction company is screwing up and they are re-doing the pedestrian overpass. Anything is better than the status quo for
sure. Good news.

GO FOR THE LEFT LANES! No lineup!
Are they going to have the brains to make the RV lanes WIDER???
Just emailed them directly with that thought. Let's see what they reply. Hmmm...

If it will make life easier for you, probably not. Baja&Back - 9-20-2010 at 05:52 PM

Lanes 21 and 22, on the left, are marked "RV". For what reason, i don't know. They are no higher, or wider, than the rest.
Officers always send RVs to Secondary, which means they must turn right - against the heavy flow of traffic!
If government can screw up - they will.BornFisher - 9-20-2010 at 07:18 PM
Good thing it`s being built GREEN!!! It might take years more, and tons more of our money to complete, but 200 years from now the temp. of the World
will be decreased 1/1,000,000 of a degree!!
But I do like the extra lanes!!

Better than a breast implant or a Viagra, you say?
