The flower fields in the Los Osos Valley were in full bloom this week:
Otters were relaxing in Morro Bay:

Now we go underwater - first a one-spot fringehead completely out in the open - very unusual:

But the real highlights were the nudibranchs - Polycera atra:

I motorcycled by those fields today, they have been spectacular for the last few weeks. I first visited this area in 1962 and it took me a few years
to become a local but have never found a place I would rather live.

Ken, as a former resident of San Luis Obispo and Avila Beach for 37 years................thank you for the memories! Still own property there.

One of your better 'barbarensis' shots. And the fringeheads came out really exceptional this time.
BTW, I read recently that the sea otter populations are starting to drop again. There are fewer pups being counted as well. They're not sure why these
