I need to get a new FM2 and need some Nomad advise. I have heard that the Cabo Immigration office is good, I've been using the La Paz office in the
past. It would be the same drive time either way.
Which one would / do you use and why? Good stories and horror stories welcome.....dtbajalou - 9-23-2010 at 07:26 PM
Your resident location is assigned to one office. That's the one you are supposed to/have to use.dtbushpilot - 9-23-2010 at 07:36 PM

That's what I had heard long ago. We live in Buena Vista which, as I understand is in the Los Cabos jurisdiction even though Los Barilles, which is
basically connected to Buena Vista is in La Paz jurisdiction.
My FM2 was cancelled earlier this year....long story. There is a thread about it somewhere. Anyway, I have a chance at a "do over" so that is the
reason for my question.oxxo - 9-24-2010 at 04:37 AM
An off duty immigration officer runs an expedite service in San Lucas called "Easy Papers." His office is two doors down from the US consulate office
(you now know the drill). US$99 and he will process your FM2, CURP, and Mexican drivers license. He can also solve any "problems" you may have with
immigration. He did for me. PM me if you want contact information.dtbushpilot - 9-25-2010 at 04:49 PM
Thanks oxxo, I'll do it.
I would have thought there would have been more advice and stories about immigration. I really could use some pros and cons of using either
office.....dtBajaBlanca - 9-25-2010 at 04:52 PM
we stopped by the la paz office to get some information and boy, what a pleasure. they speak English, they are friendly and there was a wait of about
5 minutes.
We have never been to the immigration office in Cabo, but our experience at La Paz was amazing...and I recommend it.UnoMas - 9-25-2010 at 06:06 PM
I use the Lapaz INM office as my home is in Los Barriles and have alway's been treated well there. As long as you take ALL the required info it is a
breeze, never been to the INM in Cabo
Maybe someone from Cabo will post their experience for comparison. As stated above if your home is in Buena Vista I believe you are to use the Cabo

Hmmm, since no one will step up with a positive experience in Cabo I would say La Paz is the winner
