How is the road past Ensenada?
Any major bridge work or trouble spots?
I have driven this road dozens of times, but not recently.
Fuel availability is good?

Okay, let's start with the destination, it is SANTA ROSALILLITA (I presume?)
No biggie, as it is one of the most frequently mis-spelled Baja places! It ranks up there with Guerrero Negro, Puertecitos and Los Barriles!!! Heck,
even the Mexican maps sometimes spell it 'Santa Rosaliita' sometimes!
The road past Ensenada (as of 5 days ago when I was on it) is in good shape with the exception of road widening work going on between Maneadero and
Ejido Uruapan (north of Santo Tomas) for about 12 miles. There are dirt and paved detours here... This is 10-22 miles south of Ensenada.
New wider bridges are being built where the 3 were washed out last January (San Vicente, Colonia Guerrero, El Rosario). All three have PAVED detours.
We went 14 miles beyond El Rosario last week, and as far as Laguna Chapala last July... to there Highway One was fine. Do top your tank at El
Rosario's Pemex, for the long 'dry' section of no Pemex stations until Villa Jesus Mariea, well south of Santa Rosalillita. Gas from independent
dealers is likely available at Cataviña, Laguna Chapala*, L.A. Bay junction, Santa Rosalillita, at an increased price over Pemex.

Hola rdrrm8e, you'll possibly need to fuel up at jesus maria. if you have a 200 mile range, you should make it back alright to el rosario on your way
north. i carry an extra 10 gallons just in case. driving over 60 mph just sucks the fuel up in my suv pulling a utility trailer.
please give us a report about santa rosalillita as i am curious about the area and do want to fish out of there someday too. i understand they have
great calico bass fishing from shore. or did ?

that I've seen a number of posts that have said they were dry. Just wondering, because I've always considered support of the ejido. But, I sure as

As I mentioned... gasoline is advertised for sale at Santa Rosalillita when I was there a couple years ago. Jesus Maria is 36 more miles south on Hwy.

gas is available everywhere. you just have to know how to ask for it. don't plan to roll up sucking fumes and expect someone to be waiting to pour for
you.

I walked away from my place down in baja almost 3 years ago as i was reluctant to take family and friends down there with all the trouble.
This will be my first trip down since.
I have been travelling to Baja for 50 years. I'm looking fwd to this.

Last time I was there I bought 15 gallons no problem in town (right across the street from the small store). I don't remember being it over expensive
either. I didn't want to drive down to Jesus Maria, and the military checkpoint down and up inbetween the two. (not sure if its still there or not, I
can't remember).
