Excellent situational awareness, NHRA acceleration and NASCAR cooling. They've evolved to do what they do very well. I like 'em.Natalie Ann - 9-30-2010 at 07:18 AM
"What big ears you have, Grandma," said Little Red Riding Hood.
Neat pix, Diane.

Thank you--He was not real easy to photograph in that bush! But he held real still until I got too close.
I also really like these big-eared guys, but I feel for them because they are on every predators lunch menu---just can't kick back and enjoy life!mcfez - 9-30-2010 at 01:08 PM
You know why they have big ears? The Sculpin - 9-30-2010 at 01:34 PM
We shoot those too! I really need to stick right behind and a little above DianaT's right shoulder!BajaRat - 9-30-2010 at 02:14 PM
Sculpin,
What do you mean when you say "we shoot those too"?

I have been told that the big ears with all the extra blood vessels help them keep cool. That is why the desert coyotes have bigger ears, or so we
are told.
BajaRat, I think The Scultin is referrring back to The Coyote Thread where I posted a picture of a coyote and he said they shoot coyotes as they cause problems in towns.
But I will be keeping an eye out for The Sculpin----can't have him shooting my subjects.

Nice,
Life without the apex predators is No life at all. One of my greatest attractions on the peninsula is its' vast tracts of open undisturbed habitat.
How did it survive without us all these years?
If we ignore nature it will all go away.

You got it correct. Five stars 4 u.
Be nice if some of us Nomads had big ears to stay cool...
