Colorado AAA reimbursed me for roadside assistance costs incurred in Mexico (replacement of lost keys). Plans in other states may be different, but
worth checking.

Few years ago...going home from Baja...I did my park n sleep routine at there at Salton Sea.....about 300 ft off the highway. left the lights on Called AAA and they would not help me because I was "off road".....
AAA aso sells your information to third parties BTW
