Does anyone have a recommendation where I can buy tile for my outside patio? Somewhere between TJ and Rosarito?
Is there any problems bringing it north across the U.S. border?DENNIS - 10-9-2010 at 04:28 PM
Home Depot has a good selection and prices.
Crossing north with tile is like anything else. You'll pay duty on it.msteve1014 - 10-9-2010 at 05:23 PM
You can bring in about $400 worth of goods per person without duty, I believe. We made 2 trips to Tecate, and brought back 1800 saltillos without
being asked for anything.DENNIS - 10-9-2010 at 05:30 PM

I didn't realize it was near that much.RnR - 10-9-2010 at 08:01 PM
The duty free limit coming into the US is $800 per person.
There is a wait period between multiple trips but I think that it is relatively short, (a week or maybe a month?)DENNIS - 10-9-2010 at 09:02 PM

Could you please specify the source of the tiles? Was it from out of town or a tile store on the main drag? And the price for your saltillos? Thanks
very much.msteve1014 - 10-11-2010 at 11:54 AM
I do not recall the name of the place we bought from. There are many of them on the the highway heading west out of Tecate. Talk to a few and work the
best deal you can. We paid about $0.65 each for super saltillos, if I remember correctly.Bob and Susan - 10-11-2010 at 11:57 AM
remember if you buy them from
different "lots" you could get
different colorsmsteve1014 - 10-11-2010 at 02:11 PM
Mine are all differant colors, from yellow to pink, and half and half. Very few plain red tiles. It it exactly what we wanted.encanto - 10-11-2010 at 06:01 PM
I do appreciate the information since I have seen at least one tile store in town while driving. Thanks alot.bigjohn - 10-11-2010 at 08:15 PM
The worst part of buying from different sources is not the color variation but the SIZE variation! bajajurel - 10-12-2010 at 08:38 PM

Did you install these yourself? Will they work for an outside patio installed on top of a concrete patio? Where did you get your grout as I read
there is a special grout that needs to be used so it doesn't crack.
