Just got back last night from Vicente Guerrero and thought I would give an update on the road conditions.
On Friday crossed at San Ysdiro, sent to inspection. No issues, just asked us where we were going. We took the Toll Road from Las Playas to La
Mision. Immediately after the 2nd Toll Booth in Rosarito, the south bound lanes are re-routed to the #1 north bound lane so that there is one lane
north one lane south on the same side, due to road construction. That continues until approx. Km 41. During the day when there is construction, this
area is a little slow.
We exited at La Fonda/La Mision onto the free road. The free road south from La Mision until San Miguel had no issues, road construction, etc.
South of Ensenada, there is heavy construction from the turn-off to La Bufadora for about 7-8km. Both north and south traffic are routed to a dirt
road to the side of the normal road. It is slow going when dry, worse when wet. It drizzled on our way back and a number of times we were fish
tailing while only going 15-20 MPH. If it rains hard, that road will not be fun. Traffic returns to the paved road a few Km.s before the military
checkpoint.
Two bridges are still being worked on, one in San Vicente and the other just before Vicente Guerrero. Traffic is routed down into the riverbed but
the roads are paved.
Coming back north on Sunday, we stayed on the Toll Road the whole way north of Ensenada. From Puente La Mision for 2-3 Km.s the left northbound lane
is closed so there is only one lane going north. The southbound Toll Road lanes appear to both be open in that section. (we didn't take the toll Road
south through that section.)
Side note: If you take Blvd 2000 south to Popotla and then south on the free road, the entrance at Puento Nuevo onto the south bound Toll Road is
blocked by guard rails. You'll have to continue south to Cantamar to get on the Toll Road. It's just a couple of miles, so no big deal, but I
thought it was worth noting for those who travel through Otay or Tecate and take Blvd 2000 instead of the Toll Road.

Just wanted to add that the construction South of Maneadero currently involves some major earth removal. We had a 40 minute wait earlier this month
while they were tearing down a hill.
I'm reminded of Bryan Mckenzie's current post on bridge detours. Fact is that the bridge detours represent almost zero delay, as they are well marked
and paved.
On the other hand, road construction, be at near Maneadero, or Todos Santos; not to mention South of Punta Prieta provides miles of rutted, sometimes
muddy and not very smooth surface that will slow you down immensely. Big dif.
