After a couple weeks of cloud and fog and even a few showers, we finally got a sweet sunrise! Nomad fishermen who arrived last night brought some nice
weather with them.
Within half an hour of arriving they were hauling in corb(v)ina, yellowfin croaker, halibut and surf perch in front of campo sirena...stoked at their
catch and commented it was the best surf fishing they'd ever had. Sure is nice to see some smiling fishing faces!!!
and for that token grandson photo(told ya you werent gonna want to open any of my posts anymore!!)...since I dont carry one in my wallet..yet...here
is Izaak in his eco suit at 20 days young.

Great photo Shari. We welcomed the sunrise into our little place up here this morning as well. We were starting to feel like we lived in Seattle or
something...
Maybe this will just be a late tuna season???

Heather - 10-21-2010 at 11:07 AM
What a cutie, Shari, 20 days already?
Speaking of tuna, a friend of mine pulled some yellow tail from his freezer last weekend to grill on the barbq. He had quite a bit so we took some
home for the next day.
My hubby, being the MX fisherman that he is, had to boil it and make tuna salad and machaca with it! He didn't really care for the tuna steaks!
He also tried to make "crema de atun", but it didn't turn out that great...got a recipe for this? Anybody?
It's kind of like a dip that is made with tuna, and crema (not sour cream). I've also had the same kind of dip/crema with hot dogs...kind of gross,
but guess it's cheap! My sis-in-laws serve it at baby showers in La Paz.Martyman - 10-21-2010 at 11:24 AM
That sunrise could trigger a tequila sunrise service! Cute baby!Bob and Susan - 10-21-2010 at 11:36 AM
i think you need to make "crema de atun" with tuna
yellowtail is not tunashari - 10-21-2010 at 12:03 PM
tuna just is not great after being in the freezer for too long. Cremas are a staple here at parties and you can use lots of things to make it...from
the mexican favorite...winis(hot dogs), calamari, shrimp, caracol(my personal favorite), pulpo, yellowtail, bonita or tuna which is especially
good...here is a general recipe for a half a blender's worth...double it for a party pot luck and serve with tortilla chips or saltines.
CREMA
about 2 cups of whatever ya got
1 can of Veg-all
4 tbsp of mayo and some of that nice LaLa cream
some chili adobada sauce or chilis(for smoked flavour)
salt to taste
add water to make the consistancy you like keeping in mind it sets up thicker with cooling so make it sort of watery at first...blend it really
well...I've burned out a few blenders making this...I now grind the caracols or tougher seafood first into hamburger consistancy then chuck it in the
blender. some people like more mayo some prefer more crema so you will get to know your pleasure.shari - 10-21-2010 at 02:02 PM
news flash....just got the call to bring the camera down...4 guys...20 yellowtail...woooo hoooo...game on!jorgie - 10-21-2010 at 02:19 PM

OMG - too cute - such a joy!Heather - 10-22-2010 at 09:22 AM
I don't know anything about fish, but thought I heard him say it was Yellowtail tuna. I never ate fish until I went to Cabo and met my fisherman! I
think that's what he misses most about Cabo/La Paz...pescado and mariscos (and his mommy of course). I don't eat or cook the stuff and that's always
my excuse when hubby brings some home...you cook it, I don't know how!
Thanks for the recipe, Shari, that's pretty much what my hubby did (guess he watched his sisters make it before). He used media crema and some mayo,
he even threw in the chipotles. Don't think he put in the Veg-all as he used that in his ensalada.
Nice yellowtail in the photos!
saturday sunise even better
shari - 10-22-2010 at 09:54 AM
lots of people confuse yellowtail and yellowFIN tuna. I forgot to write chili chipotle adobadas in my recipe..litttle tin and now a smoked chipotle
paste comes in a squeeze bottle.
today's sunrise was even mo bettah!
tiotomasbcs - 10-22-2010 at 12:59 PM
Amazing Grace. Looks like Jimi Hendrix' Purple Haze! Is that Izaak up on the bow? Awesome. Tiodesertcpl - 10-22-2010 at 07:12 PM

Congrats again to all of you!!
Sirena, howdo you like being a Mom so far? I think you must be doing a very good job by the looks of this little guy!!shari - 10-23-2010 at 07:20 AM
gracias frizkie...those were yellowtail...not tuna...unfortunately...but oh yes, little Izaak is a very alert little guy. Sirena is getting payback
for when she was a baby. Mooooooo...I remember feeling like a milk cow and sirena life at the moment is dedicated to Izaak's feeding frenzies...he's
pretty much stuck to her...udder?
Yep....drink, burp, sleep a bit, pee, poo, get cood at by gramma and nomads and start the process all over again...and again..and again. Motherhood at
it's best!!!

Well...when I'm not tearing my hair out because of lack of sleep I absolutely LOVE it!
Kinda hard to get my eating and sleeping in, let alone the cleaning...but I've had lots of help so I consider myself lucky!!Iflyfish - 10-23-2010 at 04:03 PM
The sleep thing is very hard at first, very hard. It is the rare baby that sleeps the night. Fortunately some routine will evolve, it just takes time.
So does adjusting to a vocabulary that consistes of babbles, coos and kuchi kuus. I would love a dollar for each time I heard an intelligent young
woman say to me "I used to have a brain and some real thoughts.....I think anyway...." This of course will all recede into the past as the baby grows
and some routine is established. The good news is that they are so darned cute and it is fascinating to see them learn and grow!!
