Yeah....It should have been "off-limits" to him since he didn't have the brains to figure it out.

Multiple gunshot wounds ?:?:
Apparently not just in the line of fire by accident.
More to this then just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. ?:?:

Personal business, eh?

Very sad news for sure. I feel badly for the family. Why would anyone choose to go to Juarez?

The sheer number of rounds sprayed out by assault rifles makes getting hit once highly unlikely.

Personal Business, eh?

Maybe he was gathering intelligence. Good idea since he didn't seem to have any of his own.

Poor judgement is not usually this deadly. Maybe they will now tell all military folk to stay out of these border town areas. Honestly, are there still tourists going to Juarez?? Did he have family there?? Or, as hinted at, personal business going on?? I drive right thru TJ twice a week, but I don't stop now, ever! I'm not scared, just smart. Hey Dennis, Sharkey's, 4 on Saturday, I'll buy you a beer or three, we can trade theories!

It's Cd. Juarez.

Amazingly, we have a consulate there catering mostly to the needs of Mexicans trying to get visas to travel north.

Wish I could oblige, BB, but I think I'll be in the states. On top of that, Sharkey's is closed till further notice.
Sounds like a good plan tho. I'll take a rain check. Thanks for the thought.

WOW....I completely mangled the quote boxes. I won't even try to fix it.

Dennis, I was in there Saturday, after the rib cook off! That was fast! Or are there two of them?

No....just one. It's a long story, but they just got rid of the entire crew and the bar part is going back to the original owner/builder. The changeover started around three weeks back and the new bar operator has opened it for a day or two since then. I wasn't even aware of them being open last Saturday until you mentioned it.
They'll have a difficult time regaining the business momentum they had until the change began.

You may have noticed some construction taking place out front and the workers are off on weekends which will explain the sporadic opening times.
