Wondered if anyone has any experience with these.
Seem to remember someone saying they didn't work but don't fully recall.
Miser caps

Have used these caps in Baja, AZ and on RV. They do work as advertised and have been very happy with them. They put an end to my battery water level
worries, especially at Baja house where nobody would be their to monitor for weeks at a time during the hot summers ! That also is a fair price as
shown on the link you posted.jgoofylizzard - 10-29-2010 at 03:46 PM
Have them on my batteries in San Felipe. Am told they work just fine by the guy that checks my batteries. (Jim & Val- LVS- EDR) Jim uses them

Half teaspoon of PURE Mineral Oil in each cell. Like a layer of saran wrap on the water. Stops evaporation. $1.59 at a pharmacy.
It works.bonanza bucko - 10-29-2010 at 07:12 PM
I had the water miser caps on my batteries.....big L16s...for six years. After about five they started to get plugged up with crud that condensed and
dried inside them making them worthless. I would suggest that you just have somebody check the water because these things don't work forever and when
they fail you could be in big trouble if you didn't check them

they kinda work but people here are removing them
they get messy, blocked and
acid can get on the tops of the batteries
then the cables corode
i really dont think they are worth the investment
as for the oil idea...
bad idea
how can you check the water inside
you cant

Mineral oil is inert, colorless, odorless & cheap. Floats a layer a fraction of a millimeter thick. Halts evaporation. Doesn't harm
anything. Good for solar and RVs. Ask a battery professional.
