Question for Boaters in BCS

I would like to hear from people who are familiar with the La Palma community on northern San Jose Island. I'd like to hear from anyone who's been out there recently. Know of any other "pocket communities" like it on other islands in the Bay of La Paz (besides Pardito, which I'm well acquainted with) that have permanent dwellings and people living in them year round? (By "permanent" I mean communities that have dwellings made of cement block.) Anyone have any interaction with either of these two communities that you'd care to share with me via u2u (or other island communities in that region)? I'd also like to hear about any experiences with semi-permanent fishing camps like those at Caleta Partida. I'm only interested in islands in the Bay of La Paz, please.

Thanks for any info you'd care to provide.

Hi Steve, a long ago poster 'Alejandra de Baja' visited a village on Isla San Jose (I belive it was on the north end, east side)...

She took this photo at the village of the 'babisuri' that was made into a pet, after she asked them not to kill the kitchen raider.

'Alejandra de Baja' lived on La Paz Bay until a hurricane sank her boat... then in La Paz for some years... not sure where she is now?

Photo of her at Viva Baja #4 (2003) in my web site.
