Seems like no two shots are ever the same. Thanks, Russ. Good stuff.

A few ominous nubes drifting around here, but it's going to be a beautiful day.

Beautiful water and sky---do you have a Graduated Neutral Density Filter? With it, you could have more detail in the land along with that wonderful water and sky.

Seems we had a couple of warm days and then it is back to the GN type weather that we have been having. Yesterday late afternoon, dew point hit and poof---the cold fog hit. Today we have a quite think marine layer. Just the weather we like.

Wow Russ. Thats the same sunrise I saw from the south end of your beach. Beautiful!

Beautiful shot, Icy? Hmmmmm if thats Baja icy i could live with that.

DianaT , I don't have any filters but can use the i photo to enhance pics.
Haven't heard of a "Graduated Neutral Density Filter" is it anything like a UV filter. When I had a film camera I had tons of filters and seldom used then so I haven't bothered buying any. I've concidered a UV if for no other reason than to protect the lenses. Here's a quick fix to the land thing.

Russ, the GND filter goes from darker to clear---that way you can you can expose on one area, say the land with the clear part so more of the land detail shows, and the sky can still have a good exposure because it is being shot through a darker lens---don't know if that makes sense.

I LOVE you morning photos just as they are. The filter would just give a little different look---not as extreme as the "fix"

I know some people don't like filters of any kind, even UV filters, but I keep a UV filter on all the time for the same reason you do----they are a lot cheaper to replace than a lens.
