BajaBlanca - 11-5-2010 at 07:11 AM

we are going to spend the day in Santa Rosalia today dealing with immigration !! If you see us BajaNomaders, say hi !! Me in blue jeans and a bluegreen very colorful blouse and Les in...what else does he wear ??? .............. dark blue La Bocana t-shirt !!

Since you didn't mention the color of his pants, he must be "pantless"???? Then for those who always wondered if Les wore underwear or not, now's your chance to find out.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'd like to hear how it goes. ??? A friend just got their inmaigrado and it was gone in 3 weeks. Not 6 months. They got the laminated card too. No hassles or a lot fewer than previous visits. Do people with an inmigrado need to go in and update to the laminated card?

how did it go .... well, it was expensive and Les got his knickers in a twist (couldn't resist that one). BUT, we had A LOT of changes to make to our FM2s and I have learned that it is better and easier in the long run to get them to do all the paperwork for us (letter writing and form filling out). It took one trip in to turn in stuff that needed copying, get the forms for paying at the bank, get instructions for photos yada yada yada

then we went for photos - the shop has moved - it is on the corner of the first street after the park to the right and cost 200 pesos each (!!!). then we went to bank and it took the teller about 20 minutes, I kid you not, to post the 4 payments we had (she was in major slo mo). then we dropped off photos (I mistakenly thoght the cards would be ready right away). we went to the new Chinese restaurant up the street called BEIJING (really really good). then came back to find out that altho all the paperwork is now done in santa rosalia - the only man who can sign is on vacation for 2 weeks. Big sigh..... but hey ... manana has to do .....

As soon as I can, I am going to become a citizen. I can't wait. :bounce:

no one get a fm2 in one day
you should not have expected it

2 week lead time is normal

especially... being you run a business and need
a permission endorsment to work approved
on the visa
doing this stuff mid-week would have been better

the bank...well...you went on friday
the BUSIEST day of the week...payday
all over the country

NEW CHINESE RESTAURANT

BajaBlanca - 11-6-2010 at 11:33 AM

this was our third renewal. both previous times we got it same day

the bank was empty when we arrived. that was the good part !!

here is a long link to photos of the trip, esp note the new chinese restaurant !!

my fm2 renewal ALWAYS needs
to be sent to la paz for a signature
because of the work part

every year takes 10 days

only a couple more years to go...

Santa Rosalia is a nice place to spend some time.:bounce:

BajaBlanca - 11-6-2010 at 11:45 AM

well, Bob and Susan, if I understood Enrique correctly, nothing goes to la paz anymore. everything gets signed by thier office - but their boss is on vacation for 2 weeks

our problem is that we are 2.5 hours away from Santa Rosalia, so that makes for a loooooooooooooong day

Just finished reuping our FM-2's in Rosarito-we thought our pix were expensive! 200 pesos for 2 of us-whole process took a couple of weeks, start to finish
