This is a great story....I hope he can finish in time...
Man trying to finish a home built BMW in time for the Baja 1000
Any Nomads going to be at contingency next week?

No but we helped a rider with a broken leg in Vizcaino yesterday

I'll be there for sure. Ooch on the leg hope he's OK.

The BMW drivers should make it a fair way this year as the course is fast and easy. I would still be surprised if they finish as Baja doesn't treat
"unprepared, newbies" well. Regardless, here is his Facebook link and if you are a racer or experienced support person, and have some spare moments
down there you should offer your contact info.

Myself and Allen our team crew chief are going down to help and cheer on DP racing and car 104 a bit. It will be the first exposure to Baja for Allen
and I want him to see how things roll down there. Our plan is to do the loop race next year.

I hope he is prepared for the silt beds. I preran from Santa Rita to La Paz and there are several silt beds wide and deep. Also many along the
section before Loreto. I didn't run that section but heard many stories of them.

The Silt is my concern down there too. We should have a few NV races in before the next 1k which I have heard is going to Cabo, not a loop.
We run a 2-speed Auto in the Truggy and it does heat up.
