Jalisco Public Security Secretary Luis Carlos Najera reports no signs of a severe crime wave washing across the north shores of Lake Chapala, but he
remains keen to ascertain the perceptions of the expatriate residents and to elicit their cooperation to help authorities keep delinquency in check.
That was the thrust of the official’s message to about 50 foreigners and several Mexican citizens at a public meeting held Friday, October 1 on the
grounds of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).

I've been to Lake Chapala.....beautiful place. The American community there surrounded by palm trees. Lakeside dining with mariachis playing and the
famous "charales" with a little salsita.
