What's needed??

grace59 - 11-14-2010 at 11:21 AM

At Thanksgiving we will be bringing our neice and nephew to Baja with us. Our neice is 20, but the nephew is only 17. What do we need to bring with us from his parents to show that we have their permission to bring him into Mexico with us? Both kids have passports so that will not be a problem.
Thanks!

Notarized letter from both parents has always worked for us. No problems at all.
Have a great trip!!!

Important to bring along a notarized letter of permission from the parents (both!) that had to stay home.

Get the parents to provide permission for the supervising adult to make emergency medical decisions on behalf of the minor...in the same letter.

Exactly (as a side note, I have taken my kids' friends south a few times, and nobody ever asked to see the note... but you should have both a permission slip notorized and the medical treatment authorization). If you search for them you will find samples posted here or elsewhere on the Internet.
